Melinda, I do the same thing when I go into a Christian bookstore. Go in for one thing and leave with that one thing plus a few others. :-) My personal opinion is that the Lord MAY be lifting Huckabee up for such a time as this. He seems like a long shot but the way info travels these days via internet especially, this man can be promoted if we spread the news. I'm glad to know about this book and I will let others know about this book. My family was chatting the other day and my Mom brought up the name Huckabee. No one, but me (thanks to Randy), knew who he was. Mom was saying that Huckabee was her man.

1. Post-It Notes
2. Reading glasses! Lots of them. In the car, the purse, the bedside table, the bathroom, the kitchen, on me somewhere.
3. My Culligan measuring spoon that has never measured salt but is perfect to measure my coffee.
4. Skylights to let sunshine in my house when trees otherwise block it.
5. Motrin for that one day of the month. Best invention to cure this womans cramps within 20 minutes. Ahhhh.
6. I can scratch the inside of my throat when it itches. I make what I think is a 'funny' sound, but Dad thinks that's why I've never married.
7. Reading material in the bathroom for the few seconds it's really needed.
8. Electricity so have light when the sun goes down.
9. Cars. We speed by trees and places our ancestors never saw in a lifetime and we are there and past them in a few minutes! It's nothing like we'll be able to travel in our glorified bodies but still....
10. Glad to be da bomb diggity (or something like that)

Organic fat free milk is all I drink these days. I like drinking milk that hasn't been taken from cows pumped full of bioengineered hormones to promote milk production. The milk is located in the 'health food' section of one store I go to. The other store has the organic milk mixed in with the rest of the milk in the dairy section. The demand from the public is there for the hormone-free 'organic' milk so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

What part of the country do you live in Nan?

I am so thankful that I haven't gotten the flu this season. Last I had it was in 1998 and I felt so bad I thought I might die. I called my parents telling them how I wanted my stuff distributed since I had no will.

I'm trying to stay well because I see my 89 year old Grandmother everyday and also my Dad who is currently under-going chemo. I tell my friends when we go see a movie that if we're near a cougher or sneezer that I'm moving.

Randy, I thought I knew what I would be reading about your story so I read Brenna's article first and thought I'd skim yours later. I've listened to you share your testimony on CD many times over and have read various articles all of which have touched me. This morning, I read your Boundless article. It isn't what I was expecting to read. I, personally, understand even more your continued care and love for those gay-identified and your enablement of taking the blows they try and inflict upon you at times. My tears flowed for the pain and loss you shared with us and for the continued love you have for those who struggle with SSA and/or are gay-identified. You may never know this side of heaven just what your redeemed life and the word of your testimony has meant to the Lord Himself and to countless people. Your article truly shows the work and love of Jesus.

God is less and less a plum line for law or so it seems anyway. Without God and His standards given consideration in this country I don't see how SSM will not eventually be allowable and put into law. How can you persuade this country and those who want to make a commitment in SSM not to? What is the standard for making such a decision? If U.S. leaders don't abide by God's standard as foundation for decisions and laws made, then I don't see how SSM will not be common. There are same-sex couples that want to make a commitment of marriage and have it recognized. I personally see allowing it as further darkness in this country. Allowing it will be encouraging those in SS relationship not to question their propensity. Those law-makers have an accounting to God about this. I know how I think it should be by God's standard, one man/one woman in a covenant of marriage. Anything else is outside of God's standard. If our country gets away from God's standard I don't see how to approach the subject on common ground. ???

I don't know much about what it takes for any 'Fred' to recover and truly find the freedom and peace from the substance abuse, but I pray really hard that your 'Fred' will find freedom that can be his.
I'm starting to listen to an audio book I purchased yesterday called "Don't Live A Wasted Life" by John Piper. I can only hope and pray that your 'Fred' will awaken to the life that God wants to give him....

George Michael fan here. 'Faith' and 'Without Prejudice' are my fav CD's. Missed him when he disappeared from the music scene which I'm foggy on why. Thought it was something about record label, producer dispute of some sort (?). Recall him saying he wouldn't be making music for many years and in fact seemed to be the case. I saw him on television recently . He seemed to be older than his chronological age. I thought to myself that his situation likely hadn't changed. This most recent news saddens me even more. He appears to still be in the clutches of a life that will never bring fulfillment for him. I pray that changes. I'm still a fan of his and probably will always care what happens to George Michael as a person and also as a talented, gifted musician.

I have examples for all the verses but the death of my Dad in August has me meditating on the reality that there is a time to die. It has me thinking about life here and what really matters. All the striving, the goals, the desires I have. What difference will they make in the whole scheme of life relationally and eternally.

Thank you for checking in on 'Fred'. God never gives up on us and will never give up on 'Fred'.
I don't know much about what it takes for any 'Fred' to recover and truly find the freedom and peace from the substance abuse, but I pray really hard that your 'Fred' will find freedom that can be his.

I'm starting to listen to an audio book I purchased yesterday called "Don't Live A Wasted Life" by John Piper. I can only hope and pray that your 'Fred' will awaken to the life that God wants to give him....
