in You Are Your Product (Or. . . “Johnny Didn’t Tell Me What the Fuck to Name This Post, so I Picked a Name Myself”) on Finance Your Freedom
Johnny actually has a 10,000 CD collection of white rappers that cities of over 400 people never knew about.

And actually, every post about marketing Johnny does involves a white rapper. It's really strange... but somehow it works.

Johnny B. Truant That's totally true. Totally true.

in Why I Don’t Make Good Points Very Often on Finance Your Freedom
Oh one more thing Clay. You did change my life by all the awesome points you made at the Growing Life.

I think opening peoples eyes to different ways of seeing things is the pretense for the shit you're doing here. You have to have the awareness and mindset for liberation, before it's manifested for you (that sounds so ridiculous, but it's really not).

So I think these two things can work together, as long as people aren't just sitting around at a fucking congratulations party of "here, here, good point."

That eternal mindsuck must be assimilated.

curiousjessica I have to agree with Jonathan: "as long as people aren't just sitting around at a fucking congratulations party of "here, here, good point."
LaurelKillough Yes. The Growing Life was one of my favorite blogs and I don't think I would have signed up for Project Mojave if I hadn't found you first at Growing Life. From others comments I think I might not be the only one. I almost didn't sign up for Project Mojave but I'm so so glad I did.

in 25 Greatest Self-Made Men in History | The Art of Manliness on Art of Manliness
Thanks for this awesome list. I agree with most all on it.

The only qualm I have... while Arnold is definitely a self made man, he does not belong in the political realm. He's done more harm than good in California. He was quoted saying "I want to make the state of California a monetary government." What the hell?

in Jonathan Mead asks: What’s right with your life? on Carrie and Danielle
Pema,

That is really awesome, congratulations to you. I hope that someday my pen will feed me. Sometimes my pens refuses to ink (thought congestion) and I lose my patience with it. But I always seem to come crawling back.

Licaritt,

Good for you. I love the mess. I try to control it, and sometimes I win. Sometimes I don't. When I embrace the mess though, I find all this interesting creativity that doesn't seem to flow as well with everything tucked away in a neat little place.

Galvanize is an awesome song to work out to.

I especially like listening to Rage and Tool when I work out. Definitely motivates.

Those are some shiny ass shoes.

In the military, do they make you shine the entire thing, on the tongue, in between the laces, etc?

in GLICH'S LIFE - Learning to Love Yourself on GLICH'S LIFE - Blogging by Glenn Ong
I think there's a lot to be said for being your own best friend. If you don't love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to, you know? It has to start from within.

in How to Stop Checking E-mail on the Evenings and Weekends on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
This is one of the most challenging things for me. I have a habit of "wanting to know". I want to have an update of what's in my inbox, what my site stats are, what's in my digg inbox, facebook, etc. etc.

I think the biggest thing that's helped me, is regrouping constantly. You have to get into the habit of asking questions, the best two for me, are is this important is it what I really need/want to do right now and can it wait? Asking these questions gets us into the habit of realizing what's important.

in Escaping the Entrepreneurial Seizure: Interview with Michael Gerber (Plus: Tim Speaking) on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
I really enjoyed the interview. I just finished the 4HWW, it was truly inspiring and liberating. It came at the perfect time in my life as well, I'm just starting my own business.

I completely agree with not finding balance necessarily in creation. I mean, there is more balance in your life when you're creating, then simply being a passive witness. But creation itself is chaotic, it's unrefined, it's daring. When you create you're on the brink of failure, the unknown, you're existing in the present. This ultimately to me, the only way worth living. Once you create, you can always refine, but so many people are afraid of failure.
