Hello, my name is Jose and I have the same problem with my car. Here are some info. about my car: color white, 2,000 year old, Honda Odyssey, 93,000 miles. My car has been having strange sounds and other type of problems lately. So I took it to MANY local auto repairs to take a look at it but only one of them could tell me the answer and they said, "It's you're transmission, so we can fix it for you but you have to pay $2,500". Well I didnt want to pay that much because that was too expensive. So now my car is just sitting there doing nothing and I am not secure with my car at all. Hi Gabriella,

have you tasted the 'tapa' called 'matrimonio' (marriage)? If not, it's very easy and quite savory. It's made with one of this boquerones, with that traditional anchovies you mention (salty and oily ;) over a fried potato. The fried potato use to be one of those industrial label, but if you have enought time try to do a thin slice and fry at home. Great tapa IMHO.

first of all let me talk about the guiltiness of Gabriella ;) I think that the proper punishment for her guiltiness is... cook the matrimonio tapa ;))

And well, I've seen this tapa with this name in Madrid and provinces around (Segovia, Toledo, I don't remember if Soria & Burgos as well) and also in Sevilla. I wouldn't bet my hand on the name of this tapa in some other provinces, but I've seen in some other places, like Bilbao and Alicante.

Hi Gabriella,

maybe a glance on spanish history of last 50 years can help to understand the odd behaviour you mention. Thirty & fourty something people inherited the fear of their parents. Our parents raised and/or born during Civil War. That time they'd a lack of everything, including food (yeeep, my parents as well). Therefore one of their biggest fears remain and appear again in these kind of situations. Despite people who born during baby-boom never lived this kind of lackness, they've inherited this kind of 'fear'... Joining this to the 'stupid-mass-behaviour' is easier to understand the last days market fever...

Yep, I do fully agree with Vitor. Many times, when people say how bad is the phone customer service of any company I use to say that 'according to their wage... well... enough to say if they pick up the phone'... while they stare at me... Anyway, have you realized how many rants by second raise an spanish... bad customer service... and for instance, bad service in bars and/or restaurants... Or a topic raised in the blog of Manuel Camblor (La Otra Botella). When a bottle of wine is tainted with TCA, what's the behaviour of a spanish customer and of a USA customer? and the behaviour of the shop or restaurant in both sides of the sea?

El mal servicio de IKEA parece que es universal...
Mi pesadilla la tuve en IKEA de Berlin-Tempelhof. Sabía de la existencia en esa tienda de un servicio de alquiler de furgonetas para el transporte. Después de hacer una voluminosa compra me acerco confiado al mostrador correspondiente para alquilar una.
Allí una antipática empleada me dice que para alquilar una furgoneta necesito un certificado de empadronamiento o de residencia en Berlín. Le explico que no tengo certificado de residencia o de empadronamiento, no sé bien que es lo que quería, que soy español que no vivo habitualmente en Berlin y que lo único que quiero es alquilar una furgoneta durante dos horas para llevar los muebles a mi apartamento. La empleada no para de gesticular y mostrar su contrariedad por mi torpeza a la hora de expresarme en alemán. Insiste en que si no tengo certificado de residencia, o de empadronamiento -no llegué a saber qué era exactamente lo que quería- no me alquilaba la furgoneta. Después de esto se desentendió de mí dejándome allí con mi voluminosa compra de dos enormes carros. Logré abordarla otra vez a pesar de su displicencia y tras mucho insistir logré que me contratara un transporte urgente a través de una agencia que me costó 70 euros. Me lo pensaré mucho antes de volver a IKEA.

I used the Gleim program and it has been extremely helpful to me. I did better on the CPA exam than I did in college, mostly because I pay more attention now! However, while studying the material for some of the parts, I did not remember covering it in my college years, so I was relearning everything all over. I have taken 3 parts and passed them all the first time. FAR (87), BEC (77), REG (92) and I am currently waiting to hear for my scores in AUD on the second wave. For BEC, REG, & AUD I used striclty Gleim materials, but for FAR I complemented my Gleim materials with my Intermediate and Advanced accounting books from college. The most helpful tool was the Gleim Test Prep software.

This might be a moot point since tomorrow is the last day of the free rides, but unless you absolutely have to, folks might want to chill on bringing their bikes on the metro.

I've seen things being a bit too busy for people to squeeze their velos on amidst all the bodies.

It definitely will be interesting to see what having to pay a fare and people getting back to regular school and work schedules will do to ridership.

Okay, price increases are inevitable, I guess (though, coupled with a reduction in bus service hours, it's a one-two gut punch).

Making people pay $5.25 for an all-day pass is pretty outrageous. Most people who ride the bus have pretty limited means of getting around if they're using ValleyMetro, much less trying to make it to where they can buy a pass off-board. If there off-board purchasing places were as plentiful as, say, in New York, then it might make sense.

It seems like the overwhelming number of riders buy only single rides or day passes, which makes buying via the Internet impractical. I foresee even more slow boarding when drivers have to explain the increase & people have to scrounge to scrape up $5.25.

I hear very little about how poorly the defense is playing. This defense is not very good. They have some good players, but it seems that the scheme they are using does not always fit the players well. For example, why to have Champ and Darrent at the corners when a lot of times Coyer has them playing 10 yards off the receivers. Another example is the strength of the Defense is the backers. We have four excelent ones including Webster, nonetheless we continue to emphasis in pass rushing the defensive line which is not that talented to begin with. Get rid off Coyer.

This is really sweet, it's got me checking out how many panels/batteries I would need to power my desktop, monitor, laptop, iPod, cellphone, etc. So far I'm at 30 cells with 20 batteries, don't think this is gonna work.

Btw, I think the purpose of this is not for the electricity to be cheaper than off the grid, the whole idea is to be more enviromentally friendly while minding a decent budget.

I personally agree with you on the whole. I would say that maybe we need to convene more thoroughly on a strategy as to whether we'd want the money split up individually or institutionally. Unfortunately in this economy, blacks in this country have not invested enough in their own community and instead focused on being consumers, so basically, it's a 1:1 input/output ratio and that's no good. Institutionally, we could use the funds, especially in our schools, hospitals, and living quarters.
