It's deceptive. Period. Their official tweet says "You did just win an iPhone". They clearly did not.

john patton Right! Just like when the cell phone companies say "free phone" and we bust them on that...oh wait, no we don't.
When you see a commercial for the cellular carrier you current have 2 months into your contract and the commercial advertises a free phone, do you have the same outrage? No, of course not, because you assume that since you just got your phone 2 months ago, you don't qualify for this new promo. Give me a break. This is the same thing.

It should be noted that people COULD use the $199 to start a new contract and therefore satisfy the claims of the promo as well. The internet is full of misguided efforts to correct perceived injustices and this seems to be another.

Facebook has proved itself absolutely useless to me.

The only thing ever even halfway interesting to happen on there for me is when I announced my engagement. And at that, my friends already knew.

The news feed is a mess, the applications are spammy, don't get me started on Slide's FunWall....

I was never on the FB bandwagon and I'm definitely not now. I'm on there to have a place for people to find me. Like people I used to work with or went to school with. Other than that? Oy. Nada. Zip. Zero.

andrewbaron I assume there were all talented people on the production (I never heard from anyone or noticed anyone at any conferences or on any blogs, twitter, etc). Perhaps there was no energy or spark to glue everyone together and provide direction. It felt like it was trying to emulate MTV, but without any creativity.

a lot of my "real followers" aren't even signed up to twitter. they view my twitter page (http://www.twitter.com/drewolanoff plug plug ha ha) as more of like a blog or landing page for me.

but thats what web 2 is all about, giving people options. as long as people are interested in what i'm up to, i don't care what they follow :)
