Rallying for Democracy in Pakistan!

PUBLIC RALLY -SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER 2007, 1pm

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf has announced that he intends to lift the state of emergency on Saturday 15th December 2007 and call elections in January 2008. President Musharraf was forced to step down as army chief amid mounting domestic opposition and international pressure.

Members of Birmingham’s Pakistani and Kashmiri communities have called a rally On Sunday 16th December to debate the current crisis and show their support to the people of Pakistan in their struggle for democracy. The recently established Pakistani Solidarity Campaign has organised the rally and invited representatives from human rights organisations and prominent leaders of Pakistan’s political parties. The rally will also be addressed via live telephone links from Pakistan by Imran Khan, leader of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf, Asma Jahangir, Special Rapporteur of the UN Commission on Human Rights, Ayesha Siddiqa, distinguished author and critic of Pakistan’s military, Nusrut Javed, a banned journalist who currently conducts his show on the streets. The rally will be chaired by Naeem Malik (Pakistan Solidarity Campaign) and will include the following invited speakers:

Yeah man, it's getting sad now. Palm just needs to get their own s*it. Regardless if Apple is wrong/right for blocking them out, Apple is not obligated to service non-Apple devices and Palm should take responsibility for their own device and do what Apple did at least and that is create an a media ecosystem for their users to use and enjoy SEAMLESSLY without having to rely on 3rd party software. Take care of ur customer urself and let everything else be extra gravy.

We actually rent in Manhattan in Harlem for $1575 for a 2 bedroom with washer & dryer in the unit.

Riverdale in Manhattan is pretty decent for rentals as well.

No. We don't have that goaltender. Not even close. 3 teams claimed him off waivers during his career with the sole intention of assigning him to the minors. There is a reason why Florida got rid of him. It's called a 2.71 goals against average. That's really, really high for a # 1 goaltender. Anderson is playing far above his ability right now. This is not going to last. He also had a 3.32 GAA for Chicago. Not good.

Also, most of his starts have been on the road. Much easier to play goalie on the road. He has looked very, very iffy in his last two starts at the Can. You are all basing your suggestions about Anderson after 11 starts. That's ridiculous.

Too bad for Tucker, but hockey is a contact sport. That's life. No way that was a dirty hit. The referees over-reacted in calling that a major penalty and a game misconduct. It was, at most, interference. Tucker has a history of cheap shots on other players. This just evens things out a bit. You are all just mad about this because he plays for the Avs. All this overreaction about a player that you were all running out of town last year and this year. Give me a break.

Just an fyi...there is currently 1 unit on the market at Park Devereux (it is up for rent/for lease), there are only a few units left at the Dawson, none available for rent, Bloomsbury Estates is something like 65% sold, 222 has seen some great sales numbers, West has as well, the Paramount has 3 units for sale and none for rent, 630 North street is at almost half reserved, RBC supposedly has all 130 reserved, and back up reservations on all of them, and even back ups on the back ups (so they say...)there is 1 unit for sale at 510 Glenwood, none for rent, I'm not sure how the Glen on Peace has been so far.
But from the numbers it seems like the demand is in fact there. Yes, the Hudson is struggling, but on the whole, the condo market here is thriving.
As far as apartments go...I have heard from the people at 712 Tucker that they are debating about whether or not to do all units to own, or some to own, some to rent. Go to their website and give them you're input. This blog is great, but I doubt a ton of developers read it.
And on the Peak Fitness parking note....there is a new lot diagonal to the West at North site. Just park there...

FriendFeed is also a source for dopamine. The more dopamine you release, the more you want to go back. Each visit to the site makes you feel less bored for a few minutes. But what makes you less bored makes you also an addict to a time-sink, which in my opinion doesn't deliver an equivalent value.

This is a note to myself. I would love to hear opinions on how FriendFeed let you create things, make things better instead of wasting your valuable time.

the music is delightful and infectious and dialogues pack substance and lend credibility to the part pre-independence drama.

The camerawork is beautifully integrated and the angles used in the songs/setups are wonderful at sucking the audience into the scenes

I agree, Even the interface is better in Palringo. THe only thing is that it won't keep you signed in once you press the home button, and its that feature as to why I wanted Mobile Chat, but if it can't be done, I am fine with that.

Sobre el punto 7: si esto acaba de empezar! Mientras que el grupo no de muestras de autocomplaciencia ni de agotamiento lo mejor es dejar las cosas tal y como están y hacer los mínimos cambios. En este sentido, los únicos que me preocupan son Márquez y Henry. Respecto al francés, este año está siendo impresionante, pero los años no perdonan y no creo que dure mucho este nivel (por desgracia). El tío que venga a relevar a Henry debe ser un crack con todas las campanillas.

Puedo estar más o menos de acuerdo con tus comentarios... pero este último en concreto me parece muy grande. No solo por tu deportividad ante la derrota sino especialmente por el optimismo con el que ves el futuro. Ojalá hubiese más aficionados con ese espíritu. Bueno, cada uno vive las cosas a su modo, pero creo que es mejor ser positivos y no amargarse por algo como el fútbol que debe ser una válvula de escape en el mejor de los sentidos.

Y después del discursito... he de decir que creo que, al menos de momento, mi culo está a salvo... :-P

Why do you need to do this in two steps with a registry import/export? Can't you just log in as Administrator to make the Regsitry changes, then copy the profile files to the new location, reboot and log in as the 'moved' user?

No, Clean Flicks should not be legal. No more than a service that took your writing, "cleaned" it of "objectionable" material and then resold it, still attributed to you although the meaning has changed to something you did not intend, for a profit.

The very idea is absurd. Take Terry Gilliam's Brazil for instance. There was a huge dustup when the American distributor changed the ending of the movie from a terrifying and sinister finale to a lame happy forever-after. Gilliam is not about happy endings or trite love stories and it was a disservice to his work to misapropriate it that way. Both the consumer - who might go looking for 12 Monkeys expecting a nice, clean, fluffy ending - and the creator - whose intended audience may well have been turned off by the mangled version - suffer due to such monkeying with works of art.

Intéressant. Cependant, contrairement à ce qu'ils disent, je doute qu'un simple CD d'installation XP suffise à installer XP. En effet, le disque dur du Wind est en SATA, ça implique donc tout le bordel habituel pour chopper les drivers adéquat pendant l'installation.

Deplus, contrairement à ce qu'ils disent, on peut surement y installer une version ultérieur, comme 2000.

- PICO Y PLACA se aplica SOLO en horas pico EN LA MAÑANA DE SALIDA y en LA NOCHE (y no siempre). antes de las 5:30 y despues de las 8:30 puedes andar con tu carro sin peo. Y NO ME DIGAN QUE NO ES ASI PORQUE A MI ME TOCABA LOS JUEVES Y YO SALIA EL JUEVES. claro, yo pasaba por baruta a las 8:30 de la mañana.
- PICO Y PLACA se aplica SOLO a aquellos vehiculos que tengan una o 2 personas. si el vehiculo vienen 3 o mas, NO LES AFECTA. Asi que DEJEN DE HABLAR PAJA los que dicen que NO VAN A PODER LLEVAR A SU FAMILIA EN SU CARRO porque a USTEDES NO LES AFECTA
- adicionalmente, cuando se activan cosas como el canal de contraflujo, por lo general tienen derecho a pasar pro ahi el transporte publico y todo aquel vehiculo que tenga mas de 3 personas, asi que aparte de no afectarles el Pico y Placa, tienen UNA VIA EXPRESA

dejen la ignorancia y lean: el Pico y Placa tiene ya mas de 10 AÑOS implementado en Bogota, y ha bajado SENSIBLEMENTE la congestion en las autopistas. inclusive, aqui mismo, cuando se hacia en baruta, bajo las colas en la Prados del Este hata en un 25%. De hecho, cuando barreta prohibio el pico y placa, muchos vecinos de La Trinidad estuvieron de acuerdo,, hasta que vieron COMO AUMENTARON LAS COLAS despues de esa "SABIA DECISION" de la Alcaldesa Juana Barreta

MTA fare hikes, bridge and tunnnel fee increases, it's all just a cost-of-doing-business in NYC-thing. That the MTA is horribly managed and run is obvious to anyone, that we will have to live with fare increases into the foreseeable future is also obvious--at least until we begin to DEMAND more from the MTA and those elected to make sure public transportation runs as needed by the people of the city. Point being, public transportation is not an option for the majority, it is a necessity that cannot be done without. There are no options, and thus, with a monopoly on public transportation, there is little to no incentive for the MTA to be managed or run in anything approaching an efficient manner.

FYI...There was a fare-hike last year. And there will be one next year. And the year after. And the year after. And service? let's not even get started on service...

Thanks Nguy. Yeah I was updating patches, I wasn't aware of any dangers involved though =S it didn't say anything bad could happen. The only folder i've changed is the chash folder (spelling) where the patches are. I've read that it's possible that Vista is the reason behide it, it's alter the harddrive it's self and I need to find away of formatting it (windows doesn't detect it, only Xplorer360) all the trouble over patches! =I. If worse comes to worse i'll buy the 120GB and upgrade from that. Although I read somewhere that the old Samsung drives won't work (the sumsung 20GB drive).. have you heard anything about that? I think it means that any data I take from the 20GB won't be conpacitable with the 120GB.. .Gawd... confused.com. lol Thank you for your help!

I am not questioning the debunking of figures. I am pointing out that the credit markets encompass a lot more than credit cards, car loans and home buyers. And if some are using the increased difficulty of obtaining a mortgage or car loan as evidence of a frozen credit market then they are mistaken as well. That's not where the danger lies. The danger lies in if 1 or 2 big banks fail, the whole system could collapse.

Do I want to prop up the banks at taxpayer expense? Not particularly. On the other hand, if the system collapses, it won't also be at taxpayer expense? Ultimately it comes down to what you think is the probability and cost of a total collapse.

The banking industry does have these crises every few years. Usually it's in some far off place like Argentina, or Thailand and does not have the ability to cripple the economy. Without onerous regulation(which I am not arguing for), it may not be possible to stop these crises.

What is even more ironic about this specific instance is that originally, Wells Fargo did not even want the bailout money. They were "compelled"* by Paulson to take it for the good of the system.

* By compelled I mean they were told by Paulson if they did not take it they would receive a call from their regulator the next day.

Sounds like alot of useless cards in there. If you're trying to get rid of VISA, leave it at home. Same with second ATM card. I would keep my skyrewards card either with my passport or for my husband, who sometimes flies straight from the office, he keeps it at work. you can always order a supplementary card and keep one at home and one at work.

I refuse to give any Broncos defensive lineman any props until I see actual pressure on a quarterback in a big game. Indy playoff losses? No pass rush. Pittsburgh massacre? Not a bit, even on third and long, when D-linemen should be salivating. Last year was downright poor, a big reason why Shanahack brought in so much new blood. As a Denver fan it pains me to say this, but I calls a spade a spade. I'd put my hard earned money on San Diego to win the Super Bowl this year. Why? They've got guys who get after the quarterback. I agree with much of what you said Miami Mike, but I still think that was an awful move last year as far as timing. I just don't think Sham is a good coach anymore. Joe Gibbs won three SBs with three non-hall of fame QBs. Now that's a mastermind, and yet, the game seems to have passed him by too. It happens.

I thought it was ignorant in so many ways to kick to Hester, the only way you lose that game. Terrible decision. I thought it was stupid to try a fake field goal with an ancient kicker in ice cold weather last year. Terrible decision. In the last three playoff losses his teams have fallen behind by four scores so quick its amazing he still has a job. Talk about gameplanning, execution and not being prepared. Terrible coaching. And yet, he always has someone to blame other than himself. Remember, Barry Switzer also inherited a team with a bunch of Hall of Famers and won a Superbowl. I don't recall anyone calling him a mastermind.

You guys obviously don't know me very well. Draft? I said it two years ago...I don't coach to get to the playoffs, I coach to win SuperBowls. I've accumulated the talent to win now, it's up to them to meet those expectations. The only time I move up in a draft is to take a franchise quarterback, like Cutler, who gives me the best chance to win a SuperBowl. I don't play for the future, that's why I bring in guys like Simeon Rice, and let guys like Bertrand Berry and Trevor Pryce go. I like to win now. I've got my eye on Pac Man Jones when he comes off suspension. I know, he's no Dale Carter, but I really think he can help the team. Can you imagine how good our defensive backs would be with Pac Man? I can.

Ok seriously some people are so arrogant. They don't seem to realise that the oceans produce more CFCs (which ruin the ozone) then our cars and thingys do. If i go on a road trip i cant take an electric car! The thing would die after 200 miles i'd have to charge it up for 8 hours before i could keep going! Some of these people deserve to be put in a country with real problems... SUV's and global warming would be the least of their problems...

Mas Lex, kalau hard disk hampir error biasanya suka bunyi trettt2 gitu kan?
Mungkin sebaiknya anda beri program tune up (seperti tune up utilities 2008/2009) pada komputer anda, supaya tingkat error pada hard disk bisa diminimalisir.

Mengenai hoki pada masa lossy saya hanya pernah sekali kissing ma salah satu mantan, setelah itu diputusin ma dia. Habis dulu juga belum di tune up sih, jadi ya "hard disk" saya waktu itu juga masih error... ;p

18 or not, Duchene is one of the most overrated, overhyped players to come into the NHL. It doesn't matter of he's fast. About 90% of NHL players are fast. But he's already got a reputation as a player who can't finish his chances. He wasn't ready for the NHL. That is extremely obvious. He needs about another 3-4 years in Juniors and the AHL. He needs to develop, and the NHL is not a developmental camp.
He's overmatched, and the Avalanche are stupid for not realizing that.

I think they lost money in season 4, or were trying to scrimp & save. The show got so dark season 4, and the same tone is following in season 5. Everything seems to take place in a dark room - no more location shots, no more outdoor scenes, no more extras. Everything is on a set; a set with crappy lighting.
