At least in Sarkozy's case there are also dead pirates. Without a lot more dead pirates this problem won't end. Sometimes perpetrators deserve to see some gun slinging come their way. More negotiating, more ransoms and more and more pirates. More dead pirates, fewer pirates. It's not that complicated.

Colin Powell wil be a terrific addition to the "Democrat" Party.
I'm sure he'll be welcomed warmly in spite of his allowing himself to be duped by Dick Cheney in the run-up to the Iraq War. At least the man appears to have a conscience.

The Republicans can keep Cheney, Malkin, Hannity, Limbaugh, et al. The Democrats will happily accept Colin Powell.

Watching Brit Hume, Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol should be a real hoot. I can't wait to see their reaction as the "real America" takes a drubbing and the "anti-Americans" storm the gates.

What's going on on Wall Street really isn't about economics. It's about finance.

God I hope they ask a question in the debates about collateralized debt obligations and auction rate securities. I am pretty much unqualified to deal with the mess on Wall Street and I got A's in economics and I'm a CPA. Sarah Palin doesn't have a clue about Wall Street.

Larry Johnson's blog, NO QUARTER, has become an Obama hate site during this campaign, complete with links to loons like Debbie Schlussel, Sean Hannity, Karl Rove and anyone else willing to trash Barack.

Democrats really don't need guys like Larry Johnson claiming to be Democrats. He's as sleazy as his background would suggest. He's one guy that should be run from the party, but hopefully he'll leave on his own when Obama is nominated and take his trash over to McCain.

First thing I heard this morning from my 83-year old mother-in-law (Hillary's demographic), "Well, looks like Obama's got the delegates but Hillary's got the votes".

Hillary Clinton herself stood before a national audience last night and dishonestly claimed to be ahead in the popular vote. There's already a word for that kind of dishonesty: Clintonian.

This "going Galt" is some of the stupidest garbage to come from the right in quite a while.

First, you all act like you make $250,000 per and I'm betting that you don't. Maybe a couple of you, but not very many. That's why it's the top two percent.

Second, we're talking about paying an extra three cents on your 250,001st dollar. Get a grip. All you top two percenters did just fine in the '90's when the rate between $250,001 and $357,000 was 36%. I'm betting you will survive this time, too.

Third, nobody gives a shit if you "go Galt" anyway. You ain't as great as you think you are. You don't work harder than other folks, like you seem to think you do. If you want to find out what real work is, get a job laying pavement in Houston, Texas in July, Your soft little lawyer hands will soon learn that's real work. Thank your lucky stars if you make over $250,000 and quit being such a pathetic whiner.

Those that manage their credit well will in some degree subsidize those that have credit problems

I don't understand why this guy would say this. Right now, just the opposite situation exists. Those who carry balances, exceed their limit or pay late are subsidizing those who pay their balance each month yet reap airline miles, free hotel rooms or whatever.

Those who pay off their balance each month are getting interest free loans while those who carry balances are paying 24% interest and paying $39 late fees for being one day late. That's their problem, but don't make it sound as if they are being subsidized by those who never pay a dime in interest.

His statement doesn't make any sense.
