Put aside whether our faith in the "expertise" of healthcare is generally warranted (a longer discussion), I think shifting control - all or some measure - is good in every instances, and particularly as it relates to healthcare shifting control over time and space (specifically called out above)

Well, in healthcare people have virtually no control at all right now, so I find it hard to even evaluate having any more (or even complete) would be a bad thing.

I also have a better view of human nature perhaps than you do. Not sure we are as easily influenced as others think

It is a good question - I think because constraints require (allow?) us to be more creative, and thus come up with better solutions
