It's a surprisingly powerful system and it's become my main work machine. Needed to use the Mac once since switching to view embedded media in a powerpoint that gets eaten on conversion, but otherwise this has been a great purchase. There are certainly cheaper options, but this device can keep up with everything (apps and a ton of tabs) without issue.

Re: Google’s Pixelbook is wasted on Chrome OS

I've been loving the Pixelbook since getting it. I use it all day for work and it's been terrific. It's light, fast and super responsive. A key benefit is ChromeOS which is snappy, carries a minimal overhead and basically just gets out of the way. My macbookpro is in a drawer at the office ... I do use Windows at home on occasion but spend almost all my time in Chrome anyway.

Re: Google Allo adds Selfie clips and group chat controls to kick out, ban members

SMS integration must be coming in the next version ... sigh.

Re: Feature Request: Even at version 20, Google Allo is still missing these 5 basic features

Think Google has prioritized sharing photos with links from the Photos service. Being online to connect with the web and only allowing one computer to be live at once is pretty annoying ... But that there is no sms integration is the worst offender preventing Allo from becoming a default service.

Re: With Google Assistant, IFTTT and Belkin’s WeMo, I’ve automated my garage door

I can't defend myQ. Agree.

Wink however provides a simple way to link it all together and share alerts so one less place to go and it works well enough for my needs. I just needed a controller.

Re: With Google Assistant, IFTTT and Belkin’s WeMo, I’ve automated my garage door

Currently cannot use Home or Alexa. Chamberlain pulled back their API I believe but it should be coming back. What I do get however are notifications if the door has been open for tool long and with a swipe through on the notification, I can close it right up.

Re: With Google Assistant, IFTTT and Belkin’s WeMo, I’ve automated my garage door

An easier and cleaner solution with simple notification is just to use the Chamberlain MyQ device and link it through Wink. You can control two doors and get notifications this way ... Wink manages the rules on the door open status.

Re: Wink Hub 2 review: Powerful home automation made approachable and fun

Do yourself a favor and keeps lights at the switch level. I've had the original Wink hub for a long time and it works well most of the time but if you limit the number of points of potential failure it will work much more smoothly ... switches and outlets are easy to install and control multiple lights at the room or zone level rather than bulb groups which can actually require a reset (yes a lightbulb reset) if you go the other way and things get messed up.

Re: Mercedes and Kia add new Android Auto models

Android Auto definitely works in the 2017 MB GLS.

Re: React To Your Notifications On PC With New Quick-Action Support | Pushbullet Blog

Is there a way to mirror the clearing of notifications across android devices? I've been with ATT for about a decade - maybe more. Our current plan is two iphones and an iPad with 4G data and additionally there are a few kids getting older who would also eventually join in on a family plan. I don't know the split between single and shared plans typically ... but shared should be a nice bonus.

Re: Android Sharing

jump to top is sorely missing ...

I recall the Newton "soup" which was amazing in it's time.
