It does indeed, and I can tell you that I have interviewed people where this is not so much the case, and it shows when you watch the final product.

The reason is probably that my general attitude toward the show is more hesitation than not. I don't think it's for everyone, and in the particular case, I think I'd rather start with - here's why it's not for everyone, but here's why you should give it a shot.

I think the answer is simply that there is popular and then there is popular. It seems the hope was to push through to an even larger audience, and try to wrangle a serious portion of the time slot.

I'm really glad for all the communication here, but this one has me a bit stumped. I'm the only one who really posted/wrote a review of the thing, and yet I didn't remotely think it was negative.

I'm also rather confused by "have a plot to base a show on," no matter who you're talking to.

At any rate, good to see the opinions being put forward.

I think you can if anyone. I am in no way a fan of either... either. The great mistake (which most will make, but you probably won't) is in thinking the movie has anything at all to do with music or art.

Thanks very much for the comment. I'm not sure about the scariness either really. My son was actually rather upset by the fighting, and by the monster getting upset, but he's sort of sensitive in that area, and he wasn't really scared.

It was sort of cute in the beginning, but now this is just becoming a boring case of people insulting themselves and not realizing it, which is rather sad.

Of course it isn't magic in the sense of casting a spell, but a common and perfectly reasonable definition of magic is, "to produce a surprising or astounding effect by virtue of workings not understood or too complicated to explain."

As in, "Wow, this laundry detergent is magic!"

It is then, without question, and in a way that no sensible reader would take issue with, a magic portal.

Stay in school.

We could or you could watch 3 or 4 hundred episodes. Its a worm hole. Not a magic portal. The physics while impossible in our world in the stargate world they work.

LOL. I have actually never seen an episode of Battlestar Galactica... unless you mean the original, which would make no sense.
