While the cost of solar has declined significantly, so has the cost of its competitior (natural gas produced grid power).

Once natural gas bottoms, solar will take off. We've been in a cheaper grid and cheaper solar phase for so many years, more expensive grid with cheaper solar is the ignition point in my view.

With the monetary base increasing the way that it has, betting against inflation (at some point in our future) is not a wise move.

@djconnel : Treating motorists as if they're after you doesn't mean jetting around like a Squirrel. This cycling tactic isn't separate from riding predictably.

I'm not saying motorists are actually trying to kill cyclists, just that it's the mindset you should have - its the basic training every motorcyclist receives in the state of California. Think of it as defensive driving for cyclists.

It doesn't matter who's fault it is, nobody deserves to have this happen to them.

With that said, let this be a reminder and lesson to all of us cyclists: when riding on city streets, treat all motorists as if they are TRYING to kill you! This is something that is taught to motorcyclists, and will make you a better/safer cyclist.

Glad to see this area getting roadway/track/bike improvements!

Wondering if this is an opportunity to experiment with trackway improvements making bicycling easier - I remember hearing about some type of rubber inserts, which makes crossing tracks for bikes much safer.
