I'm so glad I did a little googling and found this page. Got a text from a "Brown Jay" number +1 612 808 3801. Asked him to send me an email. Got this email from brownjay773@outlook.com within 24 hours:

"Thank you for the swift response,I want you to check if you have available weekends between September 13th and 19th. If you have a date open i want you to work on the estimate cost for the 6 hours photo coverage from 11am-5pm, and 6-16x20 prints family photo portraits because we have 6 families coming together for the reunion event. We'll see if I receive a response.

Re: A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Your Credit Card Interest Rates Reduced

Thank you for the encouragement and info!

Barclaycard lowered my rate from 18.99% to 14.99% with a 10 minute phone call. The very kind representative even said to call back in 3 months and ask for a lower rate again -- accounts are eligible for a lower rate every 3 months. I also made sure to ask if this rate is applied to the debt I am carrying and they assured me it is (not just for new purchases). In the meantime I will keep contributing stories to their community site in order to rack up miles without spending any money.

I didn't have the same such luck with Bank of America. They flat out said no. They did, however, tell me that my account will have an annual review in the next 30 days which could make me eligible for a lower rate and to call back. On the whole, BOA doesn't usually budge for anything. I can't wait to get out of debt with them, close all accounts, and move to a local credit union.

I pay WAY more than the minimum every month on both cards, but I've dug myself a pretty good hole. At least I don't have student, car, or home loans to pay off.

Re: My First Earthquake {Kathmandu, Nepal}

Yes, of course. I had a similar experience while hiring interns a couple years ago -- what a difference it makes to be bombarded with resumes and cover letters! However, in my field the first thing I look for is a website link. If you don't have one, you're out. Easy to divide and conquer.

My former advertising professor actually wrote a book on this and although I felt like a lot of the advice was common sense to me, I could see how it might not be to everyone (I've been applying for jobs since I was 14). And there were still little gems in there that I hadn't thought about: http://thesecrettogettingaj...

Re: Cloudmanic Labs' Blog | Cloudmanic Labs, LLC

To begin with, I have no authority on this subject. The biggest business I have ever really run is a lemonade stand as a kid. I am currently struggling to figure out how to set up a photo/design studio, but SURPRISE! They don't teach you business in art school! I even minored in marketing hoping to have some grasp of what to do in the "real world." I was recently told I'm a professional networker, so I must have learned something.

Anywho, I think the issue with internet businesses is that for every one good product there are 10 copycat products. And because they are online and accessible to everyone, the one that catches takes the market. In traditional businesses, you might have copycats, but geography plays a role and in effect, demographics play a role in the way a business is shaped. Of course you have to think about your target market online, but geography is more or less taken out of the mix.

Regardless, a good idea is a good idea and if it's well executed it is bound to succeed.

Re: Finger Lake Wine Tasting Part V: Cozy Lakeshore

Thank you, chica!

Re: Wine Tasting Part II: Nautiness at Lucas Vineyards

Thanks, Stephanie! I am embarrassed to say that I am still using the Nikon D70 that I've had since 2004. It's amazing that it has lasted so long. Namely because I have a knack for breaking all things expensive.

As far as a DSLR in the <$1200 range, I recommend the Canon 50D with the standard 17-85mm lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com...

Re: Never Say ‘Unemployed’ at Customs

Each country that requires an entry fee costs US$130. Of the places I visited, I had to pay to enter Brasil, Argentina, and Bolivia. Argentina is easy - you can pay at the border and they give you a visa on the spot. For Brasil, I got a visa from the consulate in NY before leaving the country. I recommend this as they have the most requirements. You can get all of the information you need on the consulate's website http://en.brazilny.org/inde.... I also recommend getting a visa before you leave for Bolivia. I had to deal with the immigration office and though it was pretty painless overall, it took about 3 days with a trip to the office each day. If I hadn't been staying four blocks away it would've been much more inconvenient. And who really wants to be running back and forth to an immigration office when you're traveling? At any rate, enjoy your trip!

Re: My Christmas Wish

Thank you, my friend!
