I think my point was that I never really thought of the people on CNBC anchor desks as journalists any more than I think of the talking head anchors on CNN as journalists. They're commentators at best, biological segues between topics at worst. That so many CNBC personalities constantly give their opinion should tip anyone off right away that they are not watching a report, but rather a dialogue. What I think Stewart did so right was to point out that the network presents what they do as "financial news," which it's not. Should we have a financial news network? Sure, but who would watch? Certainly not Joe Main Street. Financial Analysis is as complicated as it is boring. (And I love it.) We live in an infotainment society; being affronted by this realization after the fact is kind of dumb.

I agree that it's an interesting question, though most likely there's a difference in quantity and frequency of consumption... think the size and protein/carb mix of an American sushi dinner to the actual Japanese diet which is based much more on the rice component. /shrug. Man, I'm still curious though!

I saw those in the display window of YSL the other day and had a serious episode of WANT WANT WANT. But like most things in display windows, I never considered that they are actually for sale and that somewhere, someone will be wearing them "around the town." Sigh. I need a job. Like, ANOTHER job.

I was at Duane Reade the other day picking up a moisturizer and my hand slowly drifted from the "oil controlling" to the "antioxidant and fine line" product. It was then that I realized I had encountered a demographic shift, and that I should should probably start doing my laundry on a normal schedule like a grown up.
In other words, I feel your pain.

He-heyyy - Great review! I realized on waking Thursday morning that I TOTALLY FORGOT the finale was happening because I was watching the Presidential Debate Debacle; watched it last night though, so all is right with the world now.
