I have a feeling LinkedIn is doing (or will do) the same.

But how will die-hard LinkedIn users respond? For every one that likes
the more social features, there will be some who liked it better the
way it was.

Re: LinkedIn and Facebook: Collision course?

Mathew,

I'm in the same boat as you. I barely use LinkedIn. I use Facebook almost exclusively. Nearly all of my friends and colleagues use FB, and I find it much more productive and less confusing than LinkedIn.

Although I do like the new changes, it's highly unlikely that I'm going to cross over or devote any more time to LinkedIn at this point. I do agree with Ryan's point, however, that certain industries are more suited to leverage LinkedIn than others...

Cheers,
Aidan
www.MappingTheWeb.com

Re: Fiddy Cent on P2P: Artists need to deal

That's about the smartest thing I've ever heard a hardcore gangster rapper ever say...

Cheers,
Aidan
www.MappingTheWeb.com

Re: Hey gang, let’s head to Coke Island!

That's a different Coke Island, Aidan :-)

Re: Hey gang, let’s head to Coke Island!

... and I clicked hoping to find a post about the exciting world of blogging, drugs, and exotic places...

Cheers,
Aidan
www.MappingTheWeb.com

Re: Is Google crowdsourcing? I just
don't see Google mucking with the main index, for the reasons you
describe.

Re: Is Google crowdsourcing? Furthermore, it increases the likelihood of gaming by the scum of the Internet. I highly doubt (maybe 0% chance or so) that Google would ever choose this route.

The only thing I can see working is a situation where you can "vote" your OWN results up and down, so that Google can adapt to your behavioural patterns and results should become more relevant. Of course, this would have no effect on the searches of others though.

Cheers,
Aidan
www.MappingTheWeb.com
