Here is a question for all of you: Its practically may, where are the listings? Specifically, $2.5m and under...where are they? I feel like we havent seen much in over a month. Is everyone boycotting the spring season?

where are the new listings for spring? it seems like the same old crap in the tree section. are sellers spooked and just waiting until next year?

here is a legit question. where are all the spring listings? its mid march and its the same tired crap that hasnt moved. are people really just waiting until "prices go back up?"

What is the deal with the attitude of the people who comment on this blog??? I'm a perplexed newbie. The guy who writes this seems to put a lot of effort into and I think its actually nice to have something like this available - a good report/forum on the local residential real estate market....BUT, what is the deal with the negativity of almost every comment. I don't get it. Everyone I know in Manhattan Beach (at least a thousand people) love living here and do not root for things to turn any more sour than they already are. Homeowners have great pride in their homes here. Our town is safe, clean, has fabulous public services and schools. Why is everyone bashing MB on this site??? Granted we are living through what we will all remember as the toughest economic slowdown of our lifetime. Everyone I know is tightening there belts - even the wealthiest among us.

I previously posted on this site to warn others of how business is done at Herb Chambers Honda in Westboro, and I have to retract that. After posting on this site I received a call from the general manager that night to address my problems. He promised to make it the easiest car buying experience ever and he did. He introduced me to the best salesman Rick who has been more than helpful. They gave me what I deserved for my trade and further reduced the price of the car. They helped with student financing and with my out of state plates. Rick stayed on top of the DMV to get the job done. Rick also did a great job of explaining the car to me which was not previously done. All I can say is not every salesperson is going to be great, but there are some people in this organization that care and want to do business professionally.

Today I went to Herb Chambers Honda in Westboro. I had the worst car buying experiences of our lives. The salesman under priced our trade in by $2500 of the Kelly Blue Book value. Beyond that I was pressured into buying a car without knowing what the APR would be...crazy! The salesman based my tentative monthly payment off of a "range of APRs" that he later divulged was around 9% which did not take into account my good credit. When I decided to leave the dealership the salesman told me I was cheap and would continue to be cheap the rest of my life. Overall this was a despicable experience and even if they do decide to give me the deal I wanted I will not purchase through them.

This is the most random peice of bullshit i have ever heard. Whoever beleives that is a moron.

smoking ban Looks like you may have to convert your bar to a casino because for some reason they will be exempt from the ban.  Wtf is that all about??? I feel for you.  No one is going to want to go outside in the freezing effing cold to have a smoke 10 feet from your entrance, unless somehow you can create a smoking room or convert an outdoor area/patio with heat lamps that your patrons can use. I don't know what Iowa state laws are regarding smoking rooms and such, but it is Something to consider. This is a very popular trend in Canada since the bans on smoking were enforced many years ago.  There are some loop-holes and I realize that just 'adding on' to a bar is not always feasible or practical, just a suggestion. You may be able to make some minor alterations to accommodate your patrons in this way. Something to look into.  Good luck.

how long this year did you work for firstline, Is that really true you and hundreds others didnt get your backend. why is that? because you didnt get licensed? or what happened. i did get my backend but on february 14 we are supposed to get end of the year check that they withhold supposedly to help you out with taxes but i dont know. oh yeah and screw pinnacle..
