So, in fact, they become curator of content instead of (or in addition to) creator of content. Smart. It's what every traditional media out there should be doing...

in My social map is totally decentralized but I want it back on my blog on Loic Le Meur
I think you've captured an important point about all these great new social services. We can't be expected to decentralize our web usage for long. We'll need to pick one place where we want to live our web life and embed these decentralized services in there.

in Like, Facebook is so over, dude on Mathew's comments
I think "grown-ups" who jumped on Facebook in the last few months and industry pundits (like you and me) who "discovered" Facebook last summer are coming to the realization that Facebook is really just a place to have fun and re-connect with old friends. That's not a bad thing as it's teaching social media etiquette to a whole generation of online users but it's not (yet?) a killer must-use site. I explored that concept in a recent blog post called "Facebook is just a game".

And like you, I find myself using Twitter more and more as a business tool.

in What I learned on Scobleizer
Robert,

I think what you did with your videos was trying to put in words what you felt intuitively in the Web zeitgeist. You learn by experience and you try to share those intuitions with us. I think you ruffled some cartesian feathers when you tried to support you theory but it does not matter. You contributed to making all of us think more about how social media & social search could impact our ecosystem. People will build on these ideas and improve them.

in Can A Facebook Group Save a Magazine? on AllFacebook
I'm preparing a blog post explaining my theory behind how the group caught fire and we managed to get a large number of influencers quickly. I think Techmeme played a major role.

in Get The Answers You Need With LinkedIn on Instigator Blog
Ben,

I've used LinkedIn answers a dozen times already and I'm amazed at the quality and speed I get answers back. I've answered some questions as well, to give back to the community. When I ask myself a very specific business question, I turn to LinkedIn answers instead of searching Google as it becomes more efficient time-wise.

in TechMeme’s founder on my link blog on Scobleizer
I agree with " I’m surprised more industry insiders don’t know about it or follow it". I like TechMeme because it combines technology and business. It's the first thing I look at every morning and I check it out a couple of times during the day. It replaced Digg Technology for me.

David,

You're more than welcome! You'll bring the VC point of view to the whole Web entrepreneur discussion and it's sorely lacking in Montreal.

Another interesting (and classic!) greasy spoon for breakfast on the Plateau is Ty-Coq, on Mont-Royal Est (between Papineau and Delorimier).

I suspect I'm one of the people Sylvain is talking about. Count me in.

Hi Robert,

If you want to check it out, the Praized Blog covers what I call Local 2.0: where Local meets Social.

Not really unexpected. They mentioned it in MarketWatch two weeks ago (http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/story.asp...)
