I am sorry to hear that has happened, the more voices you remove from the conversation the less chance of a successful answer to the debate.

The Democrats and the Republicans are the oppositie sides of the same bad coin.

Both talk big-tent party, but their actions state otherwise

Both talk about representing the people but they are puppets of the ever expanding corporacracy whether it's Military Ind, Unions, Big Pharma, Big Agri, or whatever.

They can both go to hell for all I care .. my disgust for them has been cemented for the ages.

On Ron paul's campaign website under media you can watch the 30 minute INFOMERCIAL that will be played in Iowa on Dec 22-23

It is very good and if successful, I can see hime playing this in the other big delegate states

Obama is a war-mongering socialist. He has threatened to invade Pakistan and has voted yes to supporting the war.

He is a tax and spend liberal socialist who will hasten the bankruptcy of this country with his ill-conceived and unconstitutional spending.

You cannot steer the economy. The economy is driven by the "invisible hand" of the market (Thank You Adam Smith). Any attempts to "control" the economy will lead to more booms and bubbles as we have experienced in the last 40 years because of the Federal Reserve's "attempt" to control the economy once we went off the gold standard..

Just as the floods in the Midwest show we cannot control the flow of river, we cannot control the flow of the market. The less we attempt to manipulate the market, the less severe the booms and busts will be (with th exception of natural disasters and the like) and more even flow of growth can be expected.

The only thing we need to do is to ensure the currency we use is backed by something tangible besides 1s and 0s

Due to our hubris, humans have the need to control everything that affects them without taking the time to realize that sometimes the best plan is to do nothing and just be prepared.

I feel he is the real deal.

His 10 terms in Congress give us a history of consistency that can be reviewed and dcoumented.

For us Republicans who believe in small-ov, the Constitution, and free-markets, that means something to us.

For those newer neo-con republicans who fled the Democrats in the 70s, they are more interested in someone who is more flexible to the whim of the day. Hardly something we would call conservative.

As for being afraid, being free and having liberty and the responsibility of yuourself is scary, which is why most Americans are more then happy to let the government run their lives.

It's easier to bitch about the system then to go it alone.
