An excellent response, eloquently put.
Using Twitter daily as I do, both personally and professionally, I often find myself evangelizing good 'twitt-etiquette' and that includes filling out the bio section of their profiles. It would seem from your comment above that it was I that made an assumption, not yourself.
Apologies,
J :)

in Relationship Building at the Speed of Batman on Chris Brogan
Hey Chris, :)
S'funny, I read the headline of your blog post and my mind raced. It jumped out of my head flew back in time 5months, over the ocean into the US and bam landed in New York for the 2nd day of of the Web 2 NYC conference.
That conference stands out for a number of reasons, first of all because I met up with a whole bunch of my Social Media heroes as it were (yourself included), second of all because from there and well into BlogWorld the following weekend in Vegas I became known as 'That British Social Media Guy' and *finally* because I heard the most wonderful question I ever did hear.
On the second day, while in an online brand/personal relationship session with a certain Mr Solis on the panel, a guy stood up - exclaimed what he did for a living (started low at a company doing dev work, they had no web/twitter presence, took up the mantle, now does it 24/7) and then put this to the panel..
"Excuse me but, when does Batman sleep?"
A fantastic question and one that still haunts me to this day.
Your post, although nothing to do with that particular question resonates well with me. Thank you Chris, for continually shining a guiding light on moving things forward. Of late I've felt stuck in a rut and it just takes a great post like this to pick one off the floor, dust himself off and get on with things again.
Keep up the good work sir, hopefully I'll run into you soon.
Cheers,
J

A great post which highlights different ways of using/enhancing Voicemail.
I'd be really interested in getting your take on the 'Visbile vs Visual' proposition that is outlined here:
http://blog.spinvox.com/2008/11/19/iphone-spinv...
There's a high number of iPhone users who prefer voice to text over (Apple's own) Visual Voicemail...
It would seem we can count you amongst that number too!
:)

I was going to chime in with "Dur... http://ping.fm/spinvox is better and easier and more far reaching..."
But it seems Sean beat me to it.

Good point. But even so, they should tap into our API to expand their reach. I might reach out.

you have to dial a number to use ping spinvox though ... Vlingo is just holding down a button on your device.

Dude,
Been reading your blog for a while, never felt compelled to comment (but often found myself nodding!), this time however?
Wow.
Seriously GREAT photos.

in Name Any Tune With Shazam iD - The Most Amazing App For Nokia S60 on The Nokia Blog
Shazam as a service has been around in the UK for a good few years now - but as a dial-in:
You hear music, dial '2580', hold the phone to the speaker and within minutes they'll text you back with the track details.
The guys behind the service came to Mobile Geeks of London in Las Vegas at CTIA earlier this year and told me about their ideas for an app... I honestly thought it was a step in the wrong direction.
It seems they maybe onto a winner.
Great to see.

in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor - which one are you? on Blending the mix
Nice post Paul.
I'm an eternal optimist and I'm a firm believer in that stress and worry* shouldn't really, really exist...
*There's no point worrying about something that hasn't happened because, well - it hasn't happened yet and there's no point worrying about something that has already happened - because there's nothing you can do about it.
I try to have no regrets but I also try and be the happiest and nicest guy I can be every day I wake up.
From small things like trying to compliment at least three people every day to much, much larger things like organising a Fancy Dress Picnic - just for the fun of it!
Right now I have the best job I have ever had in my entire life - I've been through ups and I've certainly been through enough downs.. but I leave the downs down there and I make a good effort in enjoying the ups up here...
The only dream I've given up on is dancing, I guess. I know I never be a dancer - but then again I think that if I wanted to do that much, then I would've made the necessary sacrifices...
So I don't get too hung up on it.
:)
