IMHO, this is a bit of a false dichotomy--quality and passion aren't competing values. But citing passion as an excuse for poor quality--that's a big NO for me. So I guess I'm agreeing with you :)

Shripriya Yes, a false dichotomy. But such was the debate - which should say something about it.

Btw, there's a website called The Happy Cow (www.happycow.net) that lists veggie restaurants all over the world--you can search by location. There are several recommendations for the Caribbean--so you can make a new to-do list now :)

The whole Shashi Tharoor = man's name is real funny, esp. because I've always thought of Shashi as a woman's name. Like Shashi Deshpande... Now you can't go wrong with a good manly name like Stephen :-)
