(i.e. yellowcake fiasco?) LOL.. just kidding.

Actually, I am just speaking from the standpoint of someone who has had to support it. It's about as flexible as a steel rod in a snowstorm. It isn't intuitive from a users perspective. Bugs and quirks make things like searching for an old email make it virtually unusable for some clients.

But it is secure and I'll give them that.

Re: Do you think Lotus Notes sucks?

Lotus notes is pretty bad. Thankfully, I don't have to mess with Notes anymore. But why do companies keep going with them? My guess it has to do with built in virus protection. Lotus notes is so buggy and difficult to work with, hackers don't want to touch it.

Re: How To Avoid Being Banned By Technorati

Andy, sorry if this is off topic, but I figured you would know. There is a lot of pressure on bloggers to be A listers, but one question to ask is "why?" If you are a b or c lister, are you doing what is needed to satisfy your current readers?

Having a small group of loyal readers and giving them the content they need is just as important as the strive to be A-list

Re: Do Bloggers Always Follow Their Own Advice?

Ben, this is a great question for the bloggers out there. Personally, I'm a little paranoid that I will run into a reader and they will catch me not doing as I had instructed on my blog. Like everyone, I slip every now and again. But for the most part, I like to think that I would do as I preached on my blog.

A workaround if you do not intend on following your own advice is to clarify some people do the particular thing you are instructing your readers to do. That way, you get to give the information without necessarily having to follow it.

Let me give you an example. Recently I wrote a series on effective self-promotion techniques. In it, I did include some self-promotion strategies that other people use, but not necessarily me. Not every strategy presented is going to work for me personally. Since my readers are salespeople, entrepreneurs, students and people from other walks of life not all of my tips are suitable for every category of reader.

Having the perspective that you are going to give complete information means including tips and advice that doesn't necessarily pertain to yourself.

Re: The Carnival of Bootstrapping Entrepreneurs Launches

Thanks Ben for the recommendation. Some of the "naming" that stick out to me in marketing is when someone makes up a contradictory saying. Such as when they say something like "Use the 'gentle-strongarm' technique to convince your customer to buy.
