My grandfather was in the next room (it was in-home as you couldn't get a real one at the time) and 17 years old, and heard his sister die. He drank every day of his life, partly because of that. <br><br>However, while also agreeing with the previous poster, I have to say that this type of personal issue holds NO sway over me. People have their reasons for living their lives as they do, and I don't fault Palin (assuming this is true) for trying to keep her family private like this. This isn't, to me, some major flaw of character or morality, or some proof that there's an overarching inability for the woman to lead.
