Well done for exposing your fragile side Dave, maybe you should be the one feeling the depression as only 10 people thought your were interesting enough to click on.

Re: Here’s a hint - Not everyone lives in the U.S.

I also get the irits when you see something on the web that you want to buy and they either don't deliver outside the US or its going to cost $100 to get a $5 item delivered. I have friends in the US who can post me a box full of hot sauce and other goodies and it cost them less than $10 <shakes head mumbling to himself as he walks away>

Re: A rebuttal to Andrew Keen’s video will kill movies

Having worked in the Cinema industry for nearly 20 years I can say that the industry is fighting back.
Digital projection is being rolled out on a scale unseen in the industry since the introduction of 5.1 surround sound (and probably even greater) and the icing on the cake there is 3D digital, virtually impossible to "cam" (for the moment) and something that wont be available to the average home user for years (not when a 3D enabled digital projector costs upwards of $150,000)
I am unfamiliar with seating set-ups within US based Cinemas but very few Australian Cinemas are cramped (fire regulations and OH&S concerns) and yes you're right, the Cinema makes very little from the screening of the movie and most from the concession stand and Cinemas are not cheap to run either as most multi-plex's would suck down electricity like a German tank sucks fuel.
