This review sounds like you just backpedaled your way out of things from your first review where you stated BlogCatalog was a clone. You said it. I just agree.

Rob, no beef. I'm just stating the facts and you missed one of the biggest- no privacy policy?

BloggingMix how can you say that when half of those that belong to Blogcatalog belong to Mybloglog too? Are you saying those that belong to MBL are not real people? Then what the heck are they?

Also MBL does not require you to link back. Is BlogCatalog a directly now or a network as I'm confused?

It has an approval system? Then how did a pedophile list his blog? How did the blog that promotes drug use get listed?

I think unique feature is what help makes a community stand out and there is nothing unique about BlogCatalog. Just my opinion!

It is a discussion where Matt Cutts and Brian White both from Google mention that OnClick Java does not pass PageRank.

If you look closely you will see that it is very similar to what BC uses.

Rose does not own a blog directory. I'm the editor of one and it was not I who first noted that BlogCatalog once again added the nofollow back.

I don't need to announce that my blogs comments are nofollow. All Wordpress blogs are nofollow unless you join the No Nofollow movement, which I may just do. People are NOT commenting on my blog to get a link back though. They are however submitting to BlogCatalog to increase their PR.

Seeing how you mentioned the Blog Directory I'm editor of you will notice that they do not use the nofollow attribute. Good for them and every other directory that shares PR.

Sandra I commented on this post because it states BlogCatalog shares the link love. Well not anymore they don't.

One moment they have it, then they don't then they do.

Make up your mind BC.

Jonathon with regards to Wordpress, recently someone scraped my content. I contacted Wordpress and within 24 hours the content was removed and the blog was suspended. Blogger also needs to be applauded as they are doing a great job with regards to the fight against splog. I have reported several blogs and they have deleted them all.

The terms of Ning are unfair.

They state "Users grant a nonexclusive license to reproduce, create derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display such Content on the condition that the Content is attributed in a manner specified by its author, if at all (a â€œPublic Content Licenseâ€).

This license gives you the rights over any content we submit. You only need to ask for a non-exclusive electronic right to archive, promote, newsletter, publicly perform and publicly display such Content for the purposes of making it available to the general public.

I have a problem with terms that state you can create derivative works from the content that I submit.

That is unfair to Bloggers! You actually own any content that is posted on the social networking site. Once we post any content it belongs to Ning and they can do what they want with it, throughout the world, without paying us.

If you recall Myspace change their terms and conditions after songwriter Billy Bragg withdrew his songs from the website in protest.

Just under 17 million people visit craiglist per month and not all of them are looking to sell furniture that's for sure. The amount of people looking for sexual encounters on the service is sickening. It would be nice if Craigslist rid the site of such postings, but then again this is the internet and according to statistics the casual encounters section is a high trafficked section of the site. This is just one more reason to supervise your children while they are on the internet and hopefully Craiglist will address some of the issues.

How about Googleâ€™s "classifieds" Base? A search for 'sex' on Googleâ€™s "classifieds" personal base pulls up several results as well.

I'm not impressed with "Google Shared Stuff" at all. The service does not work with Firefox (or it did not for me.) I had to change my security setting in IE to low and still with it set low, it blocked several sites I was attempting to share.
