I think they will respond to you with a link to one of their faq pages.

That's what they always do, they will never change.

The sad fact is that A LOT of internet sites are now dependent on Google because the rest of the bunch (yahoo, msn) suck and there is no worthy competitor in sight.

So whatever changes they make either it will end up breaking the internet and causing serious backlashes (imagine a protest in front of the Googleplex) or everybody will just go along with and find a way to circumvent it...as they have done so far.

I agree being the best is more of rewarding the being the first. It also resonates with us bloggers. We always try to get the first post out about something new without getting the facts straight.

The good bloggers wait, get the real deal and then write and usually get on the front pages of most social bookmarking sites.

Well I did sign up for the thing, and lo and behold came my invitation.

So it's pretty simple yeh you watch the ad, answer a question and then you're paired up against an opponent.

I can build you a flash or excel sheet to easily cheat the system, especially in gold rush, that's the name of one of the games.

Sometimes though you can also get cheated because if the player decides to leave mid game and he/she has more points than you even from the first try, he/she can automatically win the game. It is possible sometimes, although I think the system does give you the win sometimes. Haven't played enough to experience all of that yet.

P.S you can buy moola invites on ebay for like a buck. good luck.

And be ready to waste a lot of time and walk away with nothing if you're not sure what you're doing.

I just downloaded the beta of Silverlight and liked what I saw.

The full screen mode, if its built in, was quite cool. Though it took me like two browser restarts, I forgive them for that - it's Microsoft after all.

Some of the stuff coming out with the Digg API isn't that bad either. Like that firefox extension Smart Digg Button checks every page you visit to see if it's already been submitted or not.

Did you know: somebody actually submitted the digg homepage back in the days when they didn't sort that out yet.

While it's true that our brains can do without the extra CPU usage of remembering a times table, but then in the future people will start demanding exams without questions but just multiple choice answers. Saying it's too much of a strain on my kid...

Next humans will want to just be able to think of something and see it pop up. Technology does make a few things easier, but if we get dependent on it then I feel the "majority" become spoiled from the convenience it provides.

I've found that my handwriting has gotten worse, ever since I started writing emails instead of letters. Hey, maybe we should just do away with writing altogether and destroy all pens and pencils! Everyone should have a laptop.

Art schools don't need easels or paintbrushes, just install Photoshop or GIMP!

I wonder if this will just stop people going further into video content sites like metacafe, I mean not many people would even visit video websites then anymore. They would just stay on Google and keep searching away while watching videos on search result pages.

I wonder if they will be doing the same for those "other" video sites too. Imagine a wrong kind of video showing up for a search result....to a teacher.....in a classroom!!

You can also add ThemesPress.com under Wordpress. I've written about it on my blog here.

It's a DIY type of setup for WP Themes.

Also on the comment form, when you press the "Tab" key it doesn't jump from the Name to Email and so on - but goes directly to the Comment field. Just an FYI

My search engine traffic levels have remained the same. I actually feel quite honored to be slapped for this "invisible" reason to lower PageRank along with some of the top blogs and sites on the same day. I sell links to make money, shame on me!

Bottom line, the future is clearly not tied together with Google for a lot of bloggers and websites from here on forth.

Their algorithm was built to give more weight to relevant links pointing to sites. But wait don't try to make any money like that, because that's our job. Not yours. You can eat straw can't you?

I've never clicked on a link on his site the entire time I've read it. Then again I don't agree with his tactics most of the time, or most anybodys for that matter.

Well so far its been working for me. I've only used my blog to rank higher for keywords and I'm up there, that's why I provided proof it works.

Of course as I stated, it helps if your blog is already well linked from other sites. Has natural rankings as well and is at least a couple of months old with some sort of PR. The higher the better.

I believe they are geo-targeted, as I don't see them here in East Europe.

Which is a good thing, since knowing that most of the early adopters for this method will be targeted towards U.S based households which leaves the rest of the world without ads for a little bit longer.

In my web business that I run (10 months old so far) getting visitors in the beginning was hard. Now that it has achieved search engine visibility it's easier to concentrate on how to fine tune the traffic to a conversion by monitoring a bunch of factors, some of which are listed above.

Though time consuming it is bearing fruit.
