\"Now I can on and on on how you have to not only pay for the classes but you need to pay for the costume, the fancy sweatshirt with the embroidered name on the sleeve, the professional pictures with her in costume, and even the tickets to the show but that may make you think this is all a scam.\"
So if your son or daughter played sports and needed all the equipment you would think that was a scam?
\"...so why is a rinky dink operation like this charging me an arm and 2 legs?\"
So why are you sending your daughter to a dance class if you think dance education and the arts are rinky dink? Do you have any clue how beneficial arts education is to children?
\"I\'m selling the master to some dude in China so he can sell them on the streets of Beijing for $5. I\'m bit torrenting them. I\'m sending them to public access TV, I\'m sending it in to America\'s Funniest Home Videos.\"
I can\'t believe you would even think of sending a video of your daughter and innocent kids ... you are one sick dude!
\"Well, here is where we get to the gang raping part\"
Would you really want your daughter to hear you talk like this about the dance studio and teacher she most likely loves.
I feel very sorry for your daughter.

This is so frightening, because you know there are so many other plots out there. I feel it's only a matter of time before authorities don't break one that will again take thousands of lives. We need to pray, not only for the safety of our country and our troops but for strength to withstand anything that comes our way.

That's how I run my budget. I get my pedicures, massages, and good liquor, and take my trip to Vail before I pay the electric bill.
Is something wrong with that?

Randy, I'm not sure there is much definite or clear info out there on this thing, so I wouldn't say "you bad". :) And that's why I don't agree with your second commenter up there when he says you are fear-mongering.
And to your second commenter, as to the wording of the bill: it may protect unfettered speech itself, but I believe some Americans are worried about beind held accountable for actions supposedly incited by that free speech. And we all know that's going to happen. Because lawyers are lawyers.

I have to tell you I printed this, cut it, and put it in my satchel because I laugh out loud every time I look at it. Mike is obviously screaming, but YOU look like you are absolutely shrieking!
And look at the lady behind you. "ho hum, this is fun...listen to that man scream..."

Hi, Randy. I don't think you are fear-mongering. You truly believe, as many Americans do, that hate-crime legislation will evolve into hampering freedom of speech and religion. I myself have some concerns about it.
However, I have real trouble with this news clip. Making a flyer showing two boys kissing, with the words "God hates (insert homosexual slur here)", and passing it out at the high school at which one or both boys attend is hardly a prank. I think a few days in juvenile detention might teach her a great lesson, and we can pray that she goes on to lead a productive, less nasty life. And if she's the product of hellish parents who taught her that kind of nastiness, we should pray for them too, and any other offspring they're contaminating with their hatred.
By the way, unless you have other links I can read this on, the only other source I could find (which I believe is the original source for the Family REsearch Council's post) says that she and a friend ran and jumped a fence to get away from the police. Again, I think the word "prank" is reaching a bit.
As I said, I have concerns about hate-crime legislation, but I don't think this story will sway anyone on the fence toward the anti-legislation side.

Looks like I have to thank you again!

You're so cute when you're hopeful. :) Seriously, you are a hopeful person, and that's good.
Unfortunately, I'm with Susan. I think the Bishop is dreaming. Plus...
...most Americans want our next president to be a strong manager that brings people together.
I have found this to be true only if we think that next president will use our values to do it.
I'm just a bundle of pessimism today, aren't I?

I agree with you that pre-approving a prayer makes the whole exercise pointless. However, I think we might disagree on this: They should cease praying at all in the chambers where everyone is gathered. If they want to pray, they should gather as a like group, e.g., Christians with fellow Christians, Muslims with fellow Muslims, etc., and any voluntary mixing of religions. But I've always believed that having one faith's prayer in a representative group goes against the prohibition of establishing a national religion. Plus, the more skeptical side of me questions how many of those people bowing their heads in prayer are even listening or are practicing Christians anyway.
True tolerance would be accommodating any and all religions in the pre-session "prayer" time. Just line 'em up...I imagine we'll know when someone starts on the Hail Mary, because we'll hear the screams.

Randy, since this is a newspaper, I assume that the above is your memory of what was said and that it hasn't appeared in any media yet. The reason I bring it up is that her use of the word "alleged" was actually redundant since she started out by saying "You say that you...had this alleged...shift..." She may be nice, but I'm glad you called her on the word so that she's careful when she goes to actually piece it together or has a good editor. She may even include your exchange in her article.
Will you post the article when it comes out, or link us to something? Thanks.

That is the Best Kayaking Trip Ever! Do you know how cool that story is going to be 5 years, 10 years, 20 years from now? Hopefully you and TBT will be friends then and can tell it together sometimes. I have some frightening float-trip/camping stories from down around the Missouri-Arkansas border, and they just get better with age. I wouldn't trade them or anything.
Be glad no one was seriously injured and thank God for that experience!!
And thanks for sharing. I'm still laughing. I know that may not have been your intent, but still...

Wow, another vowel. Could someone please educate me as to what "intersexed" means? I have an idea, but I would prefer to have it confirmed or corrected by someone here. Thanks.
And I'm not being coy, but are there really people who prefer to be called "queer" rather than "gay" to the point of requiring another consonant in the acronym, though it be redundant?
One more thing: who originally coined "GLBT"?
Thanks.

Hey, I just listened to your interview. You did a great job, Randy! My favorite parts were:
-that you were saved as a gay man, there weren't "conditions" on your being saved
-when you said to Jesus, "I know I'm supposed to run everything by you, but..." Hahaaaa!
-"I was not the abomination."
-clarifying that "we" continue to fight against the AIDS virus. Everyone should fight that hateful disease.
I am so glad that you were given a venue in which to clarify your beliefs and ministry, and I hope that your message reached people who need it. God bless you and keep your heart and spirit strong.
