Bush gave us that.

A smarter more consiliatory... less impressionable.. more unifying government that would increase its allies instead of scaring them away would cause Al Qaeda a lot of harm. In fact, some speculate that the whole attack on the Twin Towers was to illicit a US response to get Al Qaeda on the map (as it clearly did).

Now McCain is surrounding himself w/Bush clones (Palin for example). It would make sense that Al Qaeda would love more of Bush. Bush has done waaaay more terrorism promotion and weakening of the US position world wide (Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia, all US traditional allies are now hanging out w/Iran and Cuba) than any president possibly could.

Of course, one may also argue that it is just reverse psychology.

Re: Wall Street Uses the “S” Word to Denounce Criticizing its Bonuses - Socialism!

Wow, they have the audacity to call intervening to stop bonuses socialism, when the only reaon they even still have a job is the socialist bailout of the banking center at the expense of the rest of the economy.

These people need to get there bankrupt companies shuttered so we can allow the productive economy to expand into the space taken up by the parasites

Re: EM tests software-modeled guitar amps against the real thing

Seems simple to pick the Live amp!!!

Once you start hitting two or more notes the amp sims have a cheesy buzz to them

and the heavy marshall example just had the full sound that only a live amp can deliver

It's all taste and seems amp sim might be the new sound micing an amp is no big deal that you need to spend hours on

just use your ears

sometimes I find myself spending more time with the amp sims having so many options but you can never escape the buzz

Re: Dollar Beatdown Ramping Up

I doubt the dollar beat down will continue. If you look at purchasing power parity (burgers, accountants, lawyers, mojitos, etc.), it's cheap compared to lots of places. And Japan's and China's exports will crumple unless they buy dollars; of course, they'll keep doing it at the short end of the yield curve though, to make it tougher for the Fed to screw them through monetization.

Re: The Kenosha School District Is All About Riskless Subprime Synthetic CDOs

Derivatives Week reported that Stifel was just acting as a placement agent for wall street firms. They hate stores and condos an rich 30-somethings and trader joes and pretty much everything. I was hoping to leave the LA-east side attitude back in LA, Ballard is just a dirtier version of Los Feliz (to Capitol Hill's version of Silverlake). I wish everyone would get over themselves, so I don't have to deal with attitude everytime I leave my house.

Re: Zedomax DIY122 - Make a LED Christmas Tree!

Yes, it's all very nice, but is it cat-proof?

Re: Officials Defend Changes To Downtown Madison Benches - Madison News Story - WISC Madison

I work downtown and in general the homeless people keep to themselves and YES they sleep on these benches a lot. But guess what? There's plenty of other places to sit - like the black benches on the other side of the street. I don't see a lot of business people or residents waiting in line to sit on these benches. Yes, this is all about sticking it to the homeless. How sad. The "have's" gotta continue to take away from the "have not's." I try to support the retail downtown but I'll try less hard in the future. Here's the next evil that should be addressed: children in the downtown. There should be no school bus unloading (or even driving) within five blocks of the Capitol. Those school children come, run around the lawn, crowd the sidewalks, screech at the top of their lungs. It's a hazard and interferes with my enjoyment. Sometimes I'm even scared. Come on BID get on that one please!
