I really think that mobiles with affordable data and call plans (Internet) are going to make a huge impact in rural developing areas.

It seems like the most innovative companies like Google understand that mobile is the next big thing and are all trying to figure it out. They also understand that a lot of people in the global market don't have access to the Internet and mobile technology and they want to change that.

This can only be good news for Nicaraguans living out in rural towns.

I don't know. It probably can by be done by a case-to-case basis with your own doctor, but I don't know if MDs have to legally do it. That would be interesting to look into.

I know nothing about lab certification. Nor do I know anything about CLIA except for what I read on their limited-on-info site this morning.

The only thing that counts for me is that the personal genome service that I've chosen, 23andMe, continuously does homework on the labs, equipment etc that they use in order to provide me with optimal service.

As a consumer, that's all I can ask for. I'm not at all a professional in the genome or medical world. So, its hard for me to deduce that CLIA-certified results are any different than the 99.9% accurate lab that 23andMe was previously using.

All I can do is count on 23andMe to use their internal accountability systems on the labs, equipment etc they use.

I guess 99.9% accurate CLIA-certified results are better than 99.9% accurate non-CLIA results, right?

Yeah Gary Loveman was a professor at Harvard Business School before he joined up with Harrah's in the 90's. When he became CEO in the late 90's he started hiring tons of grads from top schools. They completely got their nerd on.

Plus, Harrah's hired "outsider" executives from places like Proctor & Gamble and Visa.

You are right about the infrastructure in India. It has a long ways to go. I actually traveled by car from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram (down at the southern tip of Kerala). That was one beautiful and also crazy ride.

That futuristic Morph video is awesome. I know its just people dreaming about future nano tech applications but its freaking awesome.

According to the YouTube video I'll be able to have my future Nokia phone smell my friends fart and tell me the exact chemical compounds (i.e. food) that it is made up of. Hahahaha yes.

I also like the fact that I'll be able to drip honey and molasses all over my phone and it won't matter.

The marketing/ad firm behind this little campaign is working overtime. They have tons of forum trolls and people leaving comments on blogs all over the place.

trevor, hmmmm I'm not really savvy with technical tech matters but I'm guessing that you're using a Mac and the site is using a Windows Media Player for the games. This is probably more a problem on their side than yours.

Are you using Internet Explorer for Macs? If so, I would download the newest Internet Explorer version.
