in Top Ten Tips for Cold Calls on Success Circuit
It is also important not to badger your calls over and over. I get lots of calls, some are interesting and companies and others are not. When I say I am not interested for the third time that doesn't mean to call me two days later because maybe I was having a bad day.

ShaneHudson This is the reason why most people get so annoyed with it. But when cold calling is done properly it is a very good method.

This will be a very interesting product Google is putting out. We will have to wait and see how it holds up against Twitter even though I'm sure Google doesn't want it to be referred to Twitter at all.

I think no matter what each and every wordpress theme needs some sort of SEO tweaking. It couldn't be that easy to just get an "out of the box" SEO friendly site that is ready to go.

in OpenX Raises Another $10M to Help in Its Efforts to Bring Down Google on Marketing Pilgrim
It should be interesting to see how this pans. I like seeing companies go up against Google in a David vs Goliath type of battle. Although I think something inside us all would like to chip away at Google's power it will take something much bigger.....like Twitter.

Andy Beal I almost went with the David & Goliath analogy, but I think I've used that countless times before. ;-)

I think a couple of big challengers will keep Google preoccupied, but I believe that Google's biggest challenge will come from the hundreds of smaller companies that take just a single aspect of Google's business and do it better.

I think what Google is starting to realize as they shut down ideas and ventures is that they can't put their hands in anything they want and turn it into gold. Some things, yes but not all.

I think this is important because many of these review sites often times have enough power to really put a dent in a businesses incoming revenue. Awful if it is an isolated incident that occurred.

in Google Closes AdSense Video Ads, Becomes New Litmus for Recession on Marketing Pilgrim
When you start to see Google trimming some serious fat of their operations than you things have gotten bad. It is a clear sign that everyone is in survival mode. I'm sure Google has plenty of reserves to carry them through the rough times. We will have to wait and see what happens.

in Is Social Networking Slowing Down the Generational Lines of Communication? on Marketing Pilgrim
@ Mandi Jacobs - Thanks for reading and your comment!

Very good points about communication and research techniques...( it is sad to say, but I have not stepped foot in a college for about 15 years...since college!) I am Gen X, but I think the big thing you nailed on the head is hesitant to change...hopefully over time more people from different generations will begin to truly understand the power of social networking and its evolving capabilities...

@Caracol Cream - That is very true there are many smaller niche social networking sites for industries (such as Active Rain for real estate and others)...It depends what someone wants to get out of their social networking time (for fun, business, etc.)

we encounter many people that feel that "blasts' is the way to go. You need to be strategic when implementing an email marketing campaign. Put yourself in the shoes of your recipients and try to anticipate what they would like to read.
