Rudy failed New York's fire and police by grandstanding rather than quietly managing the technical requirements of a smoothly operating system of emergency services.
The lack of equipment that allowed fire and police to talk to one another on 9/11, the location of the 'command center'--which itself became a part of ground zero--and many other technical details all mitigate against claims made by Rudy and his cronies that he is the 'hero of 9/11'.
The only heroes of 9/11 are the people of New York who risked their lives, lost their lives, and still suffer from the long-term health effects of breathing the toxic air on that horrible day. (Thanks to Rudy and that other goddamned incompetent hack at the EPA, Christie Todd Whitman, for lying to everyone about the hazards of breathing the toxic air.)
Why Rudy failed us? He was obviously campaigning for President even on 9/11; never one to miss an opportunity to stand on a pile of corpses in order for the crowd to get a better look at him while he speechifies about his own heroism.
That miserable piece of (*&(*#(&$ Giuliani should live long enough to see somebody else beat him to the GOP nomination. And I don't mean that other phony Thompson.

Ad hominem attacks are the hallmark of those who can't think of a valid argument.
Broadcasting lies is just as bad as stifling those you disagree with; when the lies come from a broadcaster licensed to use the public's airwaves under the guise of 'news journalism', a terrible injury is being done to all public discourse.
