Nice! I never did try soap making. I know I can pay for unscented plain soap that would work for rebatching if I wanted to make it fancy so I think I'll do that one of these days rather than deal with lye which doesn't sound fun.

Ok...I had to comment! First off, thanks for the link. The only version I'd seen didn't have the pre-performance interview. That made me cry ("never been kissed").

Second, while you don't feel at liberty to discuss things fully, you oughtn't give in to those "imafailure" taunts the enemy (yes, that old dog, ew!) is throwing at you. I've been keeping up with your blog. While it's possible you've manufactured this John Carney chap, I highly doubt it. You're published, have spent lots of time in missions, and are a child of God. Someone our Father thought worth dying for and working though. :) Lord bless you!

We had issues when we had to buy a new DVR also. If it's any consolation, they did get resolved and they're very helpful about it all. We've been running problem-free for a while.

Only thing is: you want to double check your to-do list now and then. Not a DirectTV problem, it's a problem with the programmers. They will now and then switch show times or run over/under and part of your show may not record. We had some random show record on Nickelodeon once when it should have been a Sponge Bob. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth! Not really, I just like to say that ;)

I love cumin! My dad used to make curry (not spicy) and we'd load it up with cumin. I read recently that it's a very healthy spice so it's good to have a lot of it :)

We just had sweet potato fries but they were out of a bag from the frozen food aisle. They were great and I didn't really feel the need for a dip but I wish I'd read about the avocado dip. That sounds really good!

Thanks for the mention. We have kept away from most boxed/prepped food so subs like this are a huge help. I have some home-made broth but also keep a tetra pack or two of chicken broth on hand. We can use Imagine or Central Market (local TX brand) because they're free of preservatives and artificial stuff.

The one I had to give away was a Welbilt which was made by DAK. I found a generous person online who had a "ministry", for lack of a better word, of making copies of this machine's manual and emailing them to people. It was a great machine, a 2.5 lb. one. I got it via Freecycle and it was hardly used. I miss it! I might head to Walmart if you think your Sunbeam is a good machine.

I'll need to go see what you mean by list-based interface. My old WP blog showed the left column first (all the links) then the main content. When I looked at my new one on my hubby's Blackberry, I was happy to see it showed content first bec. of the way the columns are laid out. I suspect you mean something different, though?

Did you see the one Alton Brown had in his premium ice cream episode? That's about $60 at Bed, Bath and Beyond if you have a 20% off coupon. They have the smaller version, too, at BB&B. Maybe try online? Or Amazon?

Coincidentally, I had tomato pie tonight when we went out to eat. I loved it! For some reason, I thought the tomatoes would be green. The crust had basil in it and I could tell it was made with oil. It was topped with feta and kalamata olive slices. Very good stuff!

I was hoping to get a chance to try soap making since we are on a preservative- and artificial stuff-free diet. We have to watch what comes in contact with skin also, and I was thinking it would be nice to try and make our own olive oil soap (the Kiss My Face version is $2 for 8 oz. and I thought we could do better).

Where do you find good recipes? Most online ones seem to be from stores selling you their kits.

Whole crabs cooked with slices of onions in coconut milk. Unbeatable! My grandma used to cook tiny crabs that we would eat whole (shell, legs, all parts) with fish sauce over rice. I'm getting warm fuzzies!

You'll have to post about how you are liking it. We have a big course in the sports center near our home but it's set up among trees and criss-crossed by hike/bike trails. The players are kind enough to wait until you're well away from them before tossing which is nice.

You might find it takes a lot less time for the liner to refreeze. Our Krups (may it RIP) could be used after a few hours. Or maybe our freezer was too cold?

Yum! I had a recipe with apples in it. It only made enough for two though. That's ok...there are only two people in this family who will eat it. Only one by choice (me).
