I have not been able to go to the Monterey Aquarium in about 8 years (finances have restricted travels), however I really enjoyed this place and all its exibits when I have been there.

Why is no one asking the basic question about the amount of energy used to produce the Radio waves? Where is this energy going to come from in a vehicle? Let's keep the laws of physics in mind here.

Even though I go there, I visit Yahoo Answer more to try and add a little sanity to the sea of mis-information that is out there. If you are truely an expert in your field and also have a related service (in my case an aquarium information page), you will find this an excersise in futility. The way this is structured rewards, pasters with too much time on their hands to be posers. The Top Contributors get rewarded for passing out poor advice that is a danger to many who love the aquarium hobby. Just as of wrting this I was thumbed down for well reseached up to date information while a "top Contributor" was given best answer was very anecdotal.

I have also blogged about this article. I feel we should always try and purchase tank raised fish/corals ect. whenever possible.

This article raises the other side of the issue though.

I agree with Whistler.

Food Stamps should go to those who are willing to work, HOWEVER here in Oregon (and from what I understand this is a USDA rule, so it applies elsewhere) this is not true.
My family has fallen upon hard times after years of better income due to my needing to work at home to better take care of my 3 special needs children. I have been turned down for any food stamps with a family of 5 income of $1400 per month due to an accounting rule that only allows for a 50% TOTAL business deduction (which is absurd). I have contacted my local politicians (both Republican and Democrat) and they were rude and condescending (especially Congressman Walden; R Oregon).
The system is morally bankrupt and the I would not even be in this situation if others add stood by my family in our time of need.
Needless the say, after 30 years as a Republican, I am now a registered Independent.
