Where to begin to explain how stupid this idea is? The fact England has many top class stadiums already but yet you suggest sticking one in Bristol?! So you think Bristol City or Rovers would fill a new 50k plus stadium? Right! What about Newcastle (52k), new Liverpool stadium (60k)?
I doubt anyone in either country would support such a bid and it really is a stupid idea! Sorry Gaffer!!

Congratulations on writing an incorrect article -- it was proved earlier that the initial bid was actually leaked to the Midlands newspaper, not the Echo. If you bothered to find the facts you'd know that and wouldn't have wasted your time on this pathetic article which is purely aimed at having a dig at Liverpool.

Furthermore, why not criticise Villa for their ridiculously high valuation of Barry, or for their behaviour in the saga (O'Neill happy to spout his shit live on BBC). Even the player hasn't been impressed by the club he has played and captained for years.

Villa are basing their 18m on Mascherano - who is 4 years younger than Barry. Clever shits.

This is what you get why you buy English -- you can't blame managers for looking abroad.

Oh, and goal-line technology has been tested, proved and doesnt interrupt the flow of the game. It would be a micro-chip in the ball, sensors in the frame of the goal which alerts the referee via his watch when the ball breaks the sensors and thus is over the goal line. Very simple but FIFA are morons.

Funny this, if Mancs or Chelsea had won their 2 opening games in similar fashion, everyone would be telling us how they have the mark of champions, how winning ugly is part of what champions do and the never say die attitude shows great team spirit. Winning when playing poorly is a sign im happy to see for this season, as a Liverpool fan.

As for the mong who commented on why Benayoun was playing left midfield... Maybe because there's no one else? Aurelio isnt a midfielder, Babel was only just back from Olympics and we have nobody else. Hence Benitez wanting to sign Riera and/or Barry.

Evertonian being a typical thick Blue there.... The evidence suggests most teams care less for the League Cup seeing as most teams choose to rest players.
Theres also the fact that football costs so much more to attend thesedays and thus fans would prefer to watch a match which really matters in the League.
Then theres the fact theres more football on TV than ever before (and online) so people choose to either watch that match at home or another match.
Basically, Sky and money have ruined everything that was great about English football.

Seriously, Torres' goals werent overshadowed by Riley at all. The match was over by the sending off anyway. Cahill is a cocky gobshite who showed disrespect ala Ashley Cole last season and rightly got sent off. He was also obviously seeking revenge for the Arbeloa thing. As for Arbeloa, he was provoked too but nobody mentions or shows the little kicks Osman (i think?) was taking before his kick.

He has performed admirably in the last few seasons, remains an important player in the squad and has been a tremendous servant for TEN years at one club (a rarity in this day and age). Ask any knowledgeble football fan and they will disagree with Hyypia being thrown in with the other crap in this "article" (yeah right). If Hyypia was so crap, how come a host of Premier League clubs tried to sign him in the summer and will do so again this January?
