in Police: Boxford man lands in jail after power grab on The Salem News
While this man needs to be held accountable for what he did, his numerous outbursts may be pointing to the onset of some neurological disorder such as dementia. He needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

in "Sick" employee's dismissal over Facebook use controversial - Page 3 on IT Business
I think that it was an unjust way to fire her. Personal time is such - no matter what the employer thinks. Also, if she had some issues at work, then they need to address them at work, not on her "sick" time.

in Update on Todd Boettger on My Ballard
I hope he pulls through. Then I hope he learns to stay at home on week nights with his kid. Seriously, if I had no health insurance and a kid to raise, the last thing I'd be doing is bar hopping in scum bag bars in Greenwood at 2am. But that's just silly, overly responsible, crazy me.

chopper_74 There is no excuse for that opinion, sorry, but many of us HAVE to be where there is trouble, and bar hopping is not the issue. The proper perspective is to have these areas rendered safe, for all.
Forrest, ignore the above crap.

Wow, a politician doing a photo op. WHo would ever imagine such a thing.

Amazing, I always thought it was a politician's job to be doing the actual work. Stupid me.

Talk to your pastor! His communication on this whole issue has been terrible and now he's being like SHARE, going totally secret and refusing to listen to anyone.

Bum Crisis 2009 How would this arrangement pass the zoning for that block? It sounds like a motel business in a residential neighborhood. Some of the homeless are totally nuts and hard to deal with.

This is wrong. Others may come along with the same problem and find your post along with the answer from an MVP. You publicly asked for help and received it. Why rob that opportunity of other people? Hopefully the webmaster does not remove your post. I vote NO on removing content.

The concerned employee is right.....It's just like the grant obtained to put a sewer system near Frazier farms. He had nothing to do with that either. The water and sewer board, ADECA and a couple of councilmen had been working on that 8 or 9 months before Stampfler ever got here.

When is the council gonna get rid of this guy?

in ReadTheStimulus.org: CBO Charts on Read The Stimulus
I wish Uncle Sam would realize that the private sector is the engine behind our economy. And, it’s the success of business and employees that will get us on the right track. Consumer confidence is at an all time low. Relief in the form of a 2 year tax incentive to families with incomes <$200K that purchase/make investments in consumer goods and services, and an alike 2 year tax break to small and large businesses that invest in growth opportunities I think is the way we help ourselves. That’s how I believe we could put our economy on the best course for growth. Give Away programs won’t do it, and we’re going to find ourselves leveraged to the point that other countries tell us every move we make. Further, if we don't foster the private sector for growth through their leadership, then we are going to find the US trailing other countries in innovation. One need only look how how big business views the planned course with massive lay-offs to realize that we are headed down a path that will lead to further dispare. Government does not drive our economy, the private sector does. Government benefits from our economy, and its time we wake up and realize this before its too late.

SammyB Tax cuts do not in and off themselves help grow the economy. Ronald Reagan, my favorite President to date, cut taxes in 1981 and raised taxes and increased spending in years 1982 through 1988. Look at the record by Googling "Ronald Reagan tax increases." Because of the large deficits his tax cuts created, he was forced to raise taxes so interest rates would not increase and cause the dollar to fall. Tax cuts are great political rhetoric but lousy economics.

in Palin Abused Power! gnooze October 11, 2008 on The Gnooze
You're a little off here. The panel found that Sarah Palin broke no laws, but concluded that she might have done something unethical. They also found that she was perfectly fine in firing the guy.

Brian Bartelt I read that they found that she violated ethics laws, but no criminal laws.

Saying that violating ethics laws in firing him is "perfectly fine" is a matter of opinion.
