One of the most important facts about the 40D for me was the simple size of the camera body. For my hands the 400D was too small, even with the optional battery grip. Also one thing to remember is: the 450D now uses SD cards. So if you already have some of them, maybe because from an old point & shoot, you can re-use them. I personally don't like these tiny cards, as I tend to lose them. ;-)

Also don't let yourself fool because the 2 MP difference between the 40D and 450D. As long as you aren't going to paint some major walls you won't need the 12 MP, you'll be good with the 10MP. I'm not sure about the speed of the 450D in fps, but I'm quite sure it's slower than the 40D.

Overall, if you're just a beginner looking for a good cam, I'm pretty sure you won't go wrong with the 450D or maybe even a 400D. Save the money and go for better glass, buy a nice 50mm prime for the money you just saved.

Hope I could help at least a bit. :)

Re: Somewhere Over California

Wondering what's the weirder thing:
A guy on the plane talking to a notebook
or
A guy on the plane waving his arms at a notebook :-)

Anyways, good idea!

Re: A Welcome Wave

I assume he didn't fall out?

Re: 2006/12/22/photo-sharing-sites/

Vote Zooomr

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A major announcement from Gary

I guess that's a thing we can learn from old media. My guess on the best duration of a format is about 20-40 minutes, just like TV. I'm also convinced that our TV show (which is also broadcast online) will have to come down from 2 hours a day. But the reasons for this are different.

Also the art of advertisment (that's a book title right there ;) ) is easier on a long show. Pre-roll on a 20 second video, not so much. Who'd watch that, even if it's rather short?

Re: Chris Pirillo is wrong about best pocket video cameras

Who is this Pirillo guy you are talking about? ;-)
