in Sitting under the Buddha on Everything Everywhere
Did you know that the cable car stopped running because one of the gondolas fell from the cable? It was empty, but obviously it scared the people running it... I went up there last year and the cable car was operational: great views, but long queues at both ends. I hear it's much quieter up there now that there are only buses.

in Final Thoughts on the Philippines on Everything Everywhere
I found your site through EntreCard, and was interested to read your thoughts on the Philippines - I'll be spending most of next year living there.
Good luck with the rest of your travels.

in The Holy Crap Reaction to Competition on Instigator Blog
I would have thought that finding competition is a healthy sign that the business is viable - if nobody else is doing something similar (or has plans to do so in future) then *why not*?

My feedreader presents blog posts as text only when you are looking at the list of most recent posts. But when you click on the headline, it opens in a new tab fully formatted as if in a normal browser. But if most readers don't do that, then I guess the lack of a sidebar isn't an issue!

Good point about the top left of the page. Looking at my own blog, I reckon that space is a bit wasted so I'll think about changing things around. Not sure I like the really huge icons, so I'll probably go for something a bit more subtle.
I mainly wanted to comment, though, to mention that since the change I no longer see your sidebar on my feed aggregator (NetNewsWire for Macintosh). I'm pretty sure it was fine before the change.

I am not sure how they handle sidebars, because most feed readers just serve unformatted content from the RSS feed.
You are right that size isn't everything, I just used the default graphic sizes, and found the small ones a little too small for my purposes.
