in Wrong Way Corrigan Had Nothing on Me on Frank
There's an app for that. When stuff like that happens to me, and it does , I convince myself that it is because I have so much going on that I have simply exceeded my brain's capacity for storing information. it sounds better than "I forgot". I liked your idea of taking a photo of the marker in the garage. But I have yet to do it.

I often wonder what our kids/ grandkids will think about out chronicling their every move for the masses. Good luck in your search. I wish I had talked to my parents more and asked more about their lives.

I wish I had asked more, too. At least for my guys I write it all down now. I'll find out years from now what they think about it.

I stood at the corner of Bourbon & Orleans streets on a regular Friday night. I tried to imagine how you could squeeze even one more body into that crowd. Mardi Gras is too much or me.

I saw that movie too! Our first car was also a VW bug, blue, and I don't remember the year.

I got into so much trouble once when I was 10 and repeated what my friends called a VW Beetle: A pregnant lady on roller skates. We weren't allowed to say "pregnant" in our 1969 Catholic house. LOL to think about that now.

in Our Christmas Letter 2008 on Frank
If only the Christmas letters were really this entertaining. We only get one, always a couple of days after Christmas, from a family we met on a cruise 10 years ago. Merry Christmas. Enjoy your week off.

That was our real Christmas letter this year. The genuine article...it got a few chuckles from the in-laws.

Good job Frank. You changed the course of events in a positive way.Hopefully the students take it forward,. Thanks for sharing the story. Truly, heartwarming. I'd steer clear of that Septa conductor though.

It's one of those things that gave me a little smile. When people really appreciate a small gesture, it's all good. The SEPTA guy...he's not getting any karma.

It's a shame, isn't it , that life is not that easy anymore. You can't even let your kids out to play unsupervised. Now parents make play dates.Mine used to go out early in the morning and come back for lunch and dinner. They played around the neighbohood all day, with all the other kids.

You're right. We used to get booted out of the house in the morning, told to come back for lunch (which we ate outside), and then be home in time for dinner. Nowadays, it's all protection. My 14-year-old just told Sheryl that they can't have scissors at school anymore. Honest to goodness. What a change...but I've changed too...it's video games now, not dirt clod fights in the ravine.

After doing some seiou uphill walking in Italy earlier this month, I have altered my treadmill routine by replacing some time running with some walking up a steep incline. IT really is a workout.

I first heard the term \"helicopter parent from my youngest daughter who is now a dean at a college in New York. At the time she was an RD at another college in NY. She also used the term \"Lawnmower Parents\" THey run over you and anyone else in their way in order to make sure their kid is fist, best and gets what they want. She also called us one day and thanked us for raising her to be able to make a decision. SHe said so many students were away from home without the ability to do so on their own.

I wondered how the squirrel saga played out. (ouch) We hae a robin's nest in a tree in front of the house which has ien me a lot o joy the last few days. I know the mouse was not as cute ( to you). I am glad you just moved it to a new location. It was still a mom protecting her young.

$109 per squirrel? Maybe you could just charge them rent. Did you ever read Star's posts about the squirrel who took up residence at her place? There is actually a link to it in the most recent post at Sarcasmo's Corner. It occurred just about this time in April in 2006. You may find it funny, or in your current circumstance , you may not. Good luck.

Hubby makes gentle fun of me becuase while Xmas shopping I found among those ubiquitous $5 pre-wrapped gifts, a combination magnifting glass/mini flashlight. I take it to restaraunts with me, for just this reason. It beats dragging the table candle over and plopping it on the menu. Right?
