For the first time in the 4 years I've watched the show (all of them with the current Top 24 format), the Top 12 is who I would've picked myself. I called all 4 cuts this week (ask Missy, I annoyed her with my "declaration" that I was right). In my opinion, those who got cut before this week wouldn't have made the Top 12 anyway.

I agree the "sing out" is too tough, especially for the girls and the guys who "wear they hearts on their sleeves." That said, it's a tough profession, so if you really want to make it, you better learn to handle singing in the roughest conditions.

Prediction for next week--Kristy Lee Cook or Chikezie go home (They were the guy and girl I thought could go home if one of the 4 cuts from last night made it through.

As a Country Music Fan, I like Kristy Lee's voice and thought the song she did last week was really good. However, she totally destroyed Eight Days A Week and I would've been even harder on her than the judges were. The fact that it wasn't bad enough to get her voted off speaks for the fact that what happened with David H. was enough to turn people off of him. It puts me off a little too.

Precisely. If she doesn't get a good theme next week (a decade, Country Week, etc.) she may find herself struggling to stay in the competition.

Got a little bit of a thing with Jason this week?

My only comment on the performance is I hated the arrangement of "Yesterday" Syesha sang. She sang well, but I hated the arrangement. Of course, I only know the Boyz II Men version and what we sang in my college's a capella choir.

If you replace Jason with Kristy Lee, that'd be who I think would be in the bottom 3 tonight. Kristy Lee may have song well enough not to go home, but she didn't wow anybody well enough to save herself from bottom 3 embarassment.

Fortunately for Brooke, she's well liked and there were 3 performances that were worse than hers. Brooke completely missed that song. It's a song about a woman telling another woman to leave her man alone not sheepishly pleading with her. Where was the anger at the other woman for even trying? Brooke is just too nice to sing a song like this.

Ramiele was flat out boring. She sounded fine, but it wasn't exciting.

Kristy Lee was the same. Sounded fine, but was just uninspiring. I think she could've picked a number of Dolly Parton songs and done better than this.

Syesha did well on the "Dolly" part of the song. When she tried to go Whitney, all she proved was she could hold notes for a long period of time. As you said, it was borderline off pitch.

What's your problem with Jason? Every week you have him in the bottom 3. I was surprised last week, but he was much better this week, so he should be safe. Replace him with Kristy Lee, in my opinion. I also agree that Ramiele is done. It's sad that this wasn't "Country Week" because I would've loved to see Ramiele do something from Martina McBride because she reminds me of her (small frame, huge voice).

I thought it was "Smoky Mountain Memories" instead of "Appalachin?"

I agree that Michael wasn't the best, but I would've thought he would've lasted longer than Syesha and Kristy Lee.

1 Question--way back in the Top 24, would you have thought that Syesha would be the "last girl standing?" In a word, no. Is she going to win, hopefully not. At this point, if one of the David's doesn't win, then this season has been a total waste. Jason seems like he's "defeated" most times when he sings. It's like he gets depressed when others have sang ahead of him, which shows that his heart may not be in the competition anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he's done next week, but neither him nor Syesha should be in the Final 2.

Actually, I think Jason may have gotten the most votes way back when he sang "Hallelujah" in the Top 24 rounds. I don't think Syesha ever was #1 for the week unless they weren't being truthful with the bottom 2 or 3 the previous weeks.

David performed the winning song. I'm glad to see that he won. He really impressed me throughout and showed growth. David A. was good, showed some growth, but not as much as David C. At first, I thought David C. would be lucky to make Top 6, then as the weeks moved on, he showed that he had the chops and the charisma to pull it all off.

I watched it live and don't remember exactly what he said, but it left me with the impression that the Top 3 where really close and that the one voted off was probably way behind them.

That's why in the springtime, you wait anxiously for the networks to announce their fall lineup so that you don't get blindsided like that. Next May, go to sites like tv.com or tvguide.com on a regular basis to keep up-to-date on what shows are going and what are staying. You should've known Cane was toast when Nestor Carbonell showed back up on Lost at the end of Season 4.
