in 3 Skills To Increase Your Value on Sheen Online
In every business, communication skills is really important. In sales and marketing, it is very advantageous if you have good conversation skills because you will be able to communicate your offers very clearly and you will also be able to persuade your client and might just end up closing a deal.

in Fighting Your Fear Of Downfall From “Bad Habits” on Winning Everyone
I totally agree with getting yourself into the lives of positive people. Based on personal experience, I was once a shy person who couldn't do the things I want because of it and lack the ability to believe in my own strength. Then I got acquainted with positive people and eventually got along with them and gained self-confidence. It was then that I realized the difference of having self-confidence in my life. There was just more happiness and contentment because I am able to do what I want and even face my fears.

Those are simple tips but when applied would be very helpful. I'm actually taking that in mind, the "yes, and..." because I personally have difficulties prolonging a conversation at times. Thanks for sharing these tips.

Jason Thank you for your comment!

I find myself in the same boat when it comes to prolonging the conversation. I've been working at it lately by trying to bounce the conversational ball back and forth more. It's a lot easier, I can tell you, when it's somebody I know and am comfortable with. When I first meet someone though I have to remind myself to be more outspoken. After all, they are a potential client so I need to engage.

I recently joined my local chamber of commerce and have been getting myself out more and putting myself into more social situations. This has really helped not only my interpersonal skills but my business. It might be something you could consider as well?

in Meeting the Desi Parents on Gori Girl
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"As an academic-in-training, I’ve come to value good research. Well, actually, I’ve always valued research – I believe the technical term I heard as a child was “bookworm.” (This is where the lack of social skills stems from.) After Aditya and I decided we were “serious”, I started in on studying up on both India and intercultural relationships. Initially this was meant to help my relationship with Aditya, but it sure paid off when it came to meeting his parents."

in Rock and Roll Inspired - Rolling Stone’s Top 20 as Color Palettes on Listropolis
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"The funny thing about inspiration is that you never know when it’s going to hit you. I happened to be trying to come up with a color scheme for a site I was designing, and after about an hour of disasters, I saw the London Calling album sitting on my desk, and knew those were the colors I wanted."

in Sam Rouen (Season 3) on The Biggest Loser Recap
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"One person who claimed to know Sam, in a topic that has since been deleted, said that Sam is actually studying something to do with Sports Science, which might explain why hes being ridiculed - people his size only have three places in sport. Discus, Shot Put and Sumo.
On the up side, if he is studying such things at university, he should have a leg up when it comes to understanding why hes asked to do certain things in training, which might make it easier for him to stay motivated."

in Freeze! Your memory, that is | a public defender on a public defender
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"While this might have utility in memorizing details from the scene itself, I have to question its usefulness in remembering descriptions of perpetrators. Part of the problem with eyewitness identification testimony (and partly why experts are starting to be used) is eyewitness confidence. Studies have shown that there is very little correlation between eyewitness confidence and accuracy. I fear that this tool might serve to cement incorrect recollections of the perpetrator."

in OoVoo- Video Chatting for 2008 on Chris Brogan
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"My first thought was that it was like Stickam and/or maybe like PalTalk, only with a slightly different mindset. It’s shiny. There are lots of buttons to push. There’s a fairly simple (fairly) social communication tool.

It worked okay for a six way chat early on. The errors people experienced were mostly bandwidth related, it seemed. I think Mac users get a slightly less robust experience (grumble, grumble), but otherwise, it worked-ish. Jeff Glasson from PerkettPR (on a Mac) had a rough time, but I think that’s him. : ) "

"I am also severely lacking motivation of any kind, which makes working on my other websites a joke. Speaking of which, everyone should go check out Woman Tribune. It took a mild hiatus but is getting back on its feet."

in I just sent $1000 to Noah! on The Marketing Technology Blog
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"Sorry for the late run on this! We sent a list of the entries to Ade with each entry having a random number associated (using the RAND function in Excel and then sorting the column). We then had Hannes select a random number within the 108 entries so Hannes would not know who the winner would be. The winner of the $1,000 giveaway was Noah at wpstar.com!"
