Jing is pretty awesome indeed, I've been using it for a few months. TechSmith make both Jing and Camtasia; an interesting market segmentation mechanism.

Hey Nick,

I'm not sure if you're right about the "daily quote" part. The 'user must be aware of profile page widget content' section is a reference to the FBML 1.1 addition, meaning the profile page owner won't see something drastically different from a visiting user. The app can still generate the widget content dynamically for every visitor (the amount of things the user would have to approve would be enormously uncomfortable).

So daily quotes look like they will survive to live another day, now they just can't say "ADD THIS APP" in bright purple when the profile owner isn't looking.

The bartender example actually raises an interesting point.

50% of people use Facebook at their workplace. But not everybody has a desk job where they have a private computer with internet access. I think the number of users in that specific demographic would be considerably higher.

Inner Circle moves in the right direction, but the sort of power that grouping friends requires, taking into account the privacy settings requirements, can only realistically be implemented by Facebook itself.

Hey Nick,

Thanks for the review! The Facebook API has been buggy over the past few days with FBML 1.2 and whatnot, sometimes giving inaccurate information (such as your # notes/groups).

Credit should go to Rob and Todd for coming up with and financing the application (we merely implemented it).
