in President-as-insomniac book club picks on The Colorado IndependentIf our current government read and understood this book, they'd ban it in a heartbeat!
Upon finishing it, I immediately bought a copy for my geeky grandson. But even better, the author has made it free to download off the net under Creative Commons. Just Google around for a link.

I agree strongly that politicians and groups should be clear and honest in their required reports, and file them on time.
I have no insider knowledge as to what the problem is with getting Wes's reports in on time. There IS probably a reason. It might well be a DUMB reason. But in my book, "dumb" does not equal "corrupt", at least not all by itself.
Maybe this public humiliation will make them get their act together down there in Walsh. Only time will tell. I am much MORE sure it will provide negative and untrue ammunition to whoever may run against Wes this fall, and hurt our local party's efforts to increase support for Dems in the bargain. Would that be a fair trade-off? I doubt it, and I also doubt anyone thought of that. But the law of unintended consequences never sleeps.
The reason I protest Wes's inclusion is because of the title and list aspect. "Tem MOST Corrupt" ought to mean exactly that, and there should be some info given as to how the 10 worst were chosen for that spot, compared to the others who were mentioned as also coming under scrutiny. As it stands, it looks like people got picked according to some set of criteria those of us who are mere readers of the final result aren't privy to.
In other words, a non-transparent system of judgment is pointing fingers at Wes for not being transparent in a timely fashion.
To me, that's a problem.

In other words, if you guys feel like you HAVE to post lists like this, do it with some consistency and transparency.
And yes, I am reacting emotionally to this. It's damned difficult to get a good Dem elected down here in Southeast Colorado. It's not helpful to make dramatic charges of corruption that you KNOW his opponent will try to use, especially when the true facts are kind of boring and won't stick in the public mind.

The other set are the greedy, selfish cynics who cling to any Authority's "facts" that back them up because they dread the thought of losing anything they think of as THEIRS: goods, money, social status, power and the illusion of being RIGHT.
If you are not one, you must be the other.
Oh, and by the way, when you yourself use sarcasm and name-calling from your first post on, you don't get to say later that your opponent's use of same means you win. Just FYI.

There is a new heavy-duty pump being hustled into play which will move the contaminated water from an older (?) shaft to the treatment plant, hopefully within two weeks.
See, that's what's crazy. The treatment plant was already there! It was just that there are two government agencies saying, "You do it!" "No, YOU do it!" "It's YOUR job, not mine!" "Darers go first!" etc etc etc.
As to the TOXIC factor, I think there must be a strong probability that even if there is never a blowout, the poisons could indeed seep down and out until they got into the river and then into the water table.
Flowing downhill is what water does best.

Thank Heaven the God I believe in is much more sensible and gave us humans brains so we have a fair chance of working it out ourselves before it's too late.

Whether all that water "explodes" out or just overflows out, it's going to be bad for everyone and everything downstream.
I bet if that Weins guy was a Dem, we'd be pinning a medal on him and treating him to a ticker tape parade, for being such a super-duper friend of the environment.

On a troll-rating scale of 1 to 10, I guess I'd give you 2 bridges for effort. But you're pretty much coming across as a noob here, using all the nooby tricks, such as, "Ooh, you're breaking the RULES and I'm gonna TELL", "I only called little names but he called me back WORSER ones" and "You guys are all being mean and sticking together, but OTHER people agree with me!! Even if I have to invent them."
I think if you apply yourself you can do better.
