in A Logical Approach to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and One World Government [NWO] Conspiracy on danielmiessler.com | grep understandingWow...I came to this site for the excellent tutorial on tcpdump, but I wasn't expecting this topic. I usually like to see conspiracies limited to the movies, but I don't think this push for a one-world government is all that far fetched at all. This sentiment was already tried twice in the last century, with the League of Nations after World War I and the United Nations after World War II. With each iteration the model grows more successful - and I fear the next "release".
I don't think many Paul supporters would or even could support Obama, because the man promises so many things antithetical to his movement. Threats of foreign intervention in Pakistan, threats of nuking Iran over Israel, threats of committing a sizable portion of our GDP to "fighting global poverty" (under U.N. auspices, naturally), are things that no classical liberal, traditional republican, or indeed our founding fathers would subscribe to.
We should also look at who Obama has surrounded himself with. Z. Brzezinski was one of his "surrogate" advisers, and if this man is not the definition of "Washington insider" or "business as usual", I don't know what does. Oh, and he founded the Trilateral Commission and is in the CFR.
This sort of inferred observation does cross into the realm of "conspiracy", but one observable fact can be gleaned from all of this. Polls show popular opinion for the U.S. government at literally all time lows. Congress is near single digit approval ratings. People don't feel they are underrepresented, or ignored, or disrespected by what should be civil servants. Worse yet, we are being taxed at an incredible rate to allow these people lives of luxary. To put it one way, you essentially work from January to April (because many must give 33% of their wages to the IRS) so that we can provide our congressmen and women with opulent, high-rolling, jetset lifestyles. The rest we throw into a hole somewhere in Iraq, or sink it into welfare, or social security, or medicare, or whatever boondagle idea they'll cook up next.
This is the current situation. Now expand that to a global scale. We will have less representation, less governmental oversight, and less individual freedom. The world of Star Trek operated on reason and light. Our world operates on intellectual arrogance and lust for power. Obama is the new boss, same as the old boss, but the rhetoric has spun the siren's song well. Strap in, America.

in Teachers mass at meeting over stalled contract on The Salem NewsSecondly, "Paid Overtime" is not an option for teachers. If it were the city would definitely go broke. You obviously have no clue what teachers do beyond the confines of the "school day."
Lastly, there are plenty of drug addicts and criminals that came from "active parents." What an ignorant and arrogant comment. I guess all kids that go down the wrong path must have "inactive parents." I think you are the one that needs to "get out of your bubble."
I, for one, am not going to dignify any more of your comments with a response. It would be nice if others also took that approach, as PeabodyParent seems to be the only voice on this messageboard.
I am arrogant and ignorant? Really. All I said is that I am responsible for my kids when it comes to education and you drag in drugs...Talk about changing topics....
I think it is so funny that if you talk against the teachers your are a evil person. I am just so tired of the whining and the holding out until they get guarantee's that most people that go to work everyday dont get...
I am not in a bubble. I am a realist and I think it is time for more people to speak up and say we have had it. If you dont like what you get paid in your job then you should have never chosen this profession. It's not like it is a big surprise that you are not going to become a millionare...

in Teachers mass at meeting over stalled contract on The Salem NewsPeabody Parent: You will be the first in line to complain about low SAT scores. Well, it is parents like you that are responsible for them. The lack of respect for these teachers is astounding. No wonder they all leave. Low pay, stalled contracts, and darling parents like you. Enjoy the underqualified teachers that will be hired because NO ONE ELSE is going to want to work here.
Like I have said before: If you do not treat these educators as professionals then DO NOT expect professional results. PERIOD.
I wont complain about low SAT scores. I am responsible for my children not the teacher. They are there to teach the materials and I am there to teach them the skills to learn and help them reinforce the what they learn. I am not going to trust a stranger to prepare my child for the future. That is my job as a parent. If my child is having issues then I will find a way to help them comprehend the materials. I have seen what the Peabody schools have done to special needs students and it is disgusting....Fortunately I have extremely bright children and they will do very well because I am an active parent...
I can.

in Masco officials deny teachers are undervalued on The Salem NewsIf anyone deserves a raise it is teachers of inner city schools, not Masconomet.
When a student swearing in class is the biggest disclipine issue you have to deal with, you got it pretty good.
These teachers wouldn't last a day in a tough school....get over yourselves.

in Unsigned contract rankles teachers on The Salem NewsThe teachers union negotiated and ultimately agreed to a contract . Now mayor mike is going to just refuse to sign it.!!! Very honorable.
Time to go mayor mike. Great way to leave a legacy: A Mayor who DOES NOT stand by his word..
For the record, I am not a teacher. I am a parent in the district that feel this drawn out negotiation is hurting our children. I also believe the mayor should show some responsibility here. I think we, as Peabody parents, need to support these professionials 100%.
Even if you are not a "teacher supporter," you need to admit that this is absolutely ridiculous....didn't we at least hope this was finally over???

in I LuV KL XXX. Say, NO, To PAS. on JED YOONG 熊玉鳳 جيد يوڠComparing KB with KL is like comparing KL with Tokyo, London and Paris.
Especially when you know yourself that the " silver Petronas Twin Towers " were built from oil pumped out from impoverished Terengganu and yes, Sabah too.
KL is the capital of Malaysia and should be compared with one from the same level i.e of other developing nations - like Jakarta, Manila or Bangkok. If population is also taken into consideration than KL is " no match " with the above mentioned at all. You see Jed, comparing is not an easy thing to do. There's a lot of things to consider.
Besides, KB is in Kelantan, one of few unfederated Malay states ( Terengganu, Perlis, Kedah & Johor ) which the British left to fend for themselves. So KB should be compared with KT, Kangar and Alor Setar instead, for the sake of fair comparison.

in That Was Then, This Is Now on danielmiessler.com | grep understandingADD is way overdiagnosed, I actually met with a psychiatrist in a free consultation to see what they'd say, knowing full and well that I don't have the disorder, and guess what? I was diagnosed with ADD and recommended to take a regimen consisting of two different pills. They make money off of writing prescriptions, and therefore hand them out to anyone who walks in the door. I've met about 50 young adults who've hidden behind the term ADD or ADHD, and yet I can say only two of them were severely impaired to the point of being unable to focus without medication. (One still takes days to study for a test or to write short papers, even on medication). The others are lazy, aren't interested in what their teachers are saying, or are mildly spacey. A lot of them don't realise that it takes EFFORT to pay attention to something that's boring, and when confronted with the choice of paying attention (paying is expending something and getting something in return, it's not given to you) or slacking, they'll opt for the latter and then take shelter under the trendy disorder that every fucking person in the world seems to have. Everyone daydreams. Everyone gets bored. Get over yourself, have some pride and stop making excuses. You have to grow up some time, and that's why you see children with ADD, and adults who say they USED to have ADD. They start taking responsibility for their actions, and what do you know? Cured. Not with a daily dose of amphetamines. There's a reason why children are diagnosed with ADD, because all a shrink has to do is confirm that your child is in fact a child, and then they'll have plenty of reasons as to why they need to be doped up in order to function in society. Yes, some people do have a severe case of ADD. But it's rare, and it's not just a lack of interest. It's the inabilty to do anything, even things that they enjoy, without major interruption of their train of thought.
Look online at the symptoms of ADD. According to them, you have ADD. But the fact that you just read all of my rant clearly shows that you don't.

in News from the Front on Paul GrahamHaving interviewed and worked along side people from these schools, most have worked fewer hours than their peers, get less done at lower quality, and have attitude problems. On the other hand, I have had very good expierence with people who went to pure engineering schools, whether in the United States, Russia, or India.
I never quite understood why the elites had such poor quality graduates until a colleage told me about the "Harvard Jew Crisis".
