in Thank You Continental Airlines on Chris Brogan
I once had to wait 9 hours for a 3hr flight on American Airlines. The next day, I received a friendly email from AA apologizing for the delay and offering me double-miles.

Glad to hear you had a good experience and blogged about it.

PS: I was also under the impression that unaccompanied bags could not travel due to security regulations.

in Global Languages and Social Media on Chris Brogan
I blog both in English (@ red66.com) and in Spanish (@ technosailor.com). While it is indeed more work, and I sometimes blog the same content in both languages, it does give me access to two entirely different audiences (yes, I'm sure there's overlap).

It depends on who you want to reach and how comfortable you're with either option...

For starters, I'd try to stay focused on just one language. Blogging regularly is hard enough as it is... no need to make it more complicated until you've learned the ropes.

in A Foul Bastards Tale - RATED PG13 on Chris Brogan
Twitter is flexible enough for all these uses and many more we haven't yet thought of. As a community building tool it gives us the power to create communities some may not agree with - and it's in the intersections of these communities where problems may arise. In the end, it seems this was all one big misunderstanding...

I liked Stone's explanation and it's good to know that Twitter has some mechanisms to deal with potential abuse... although Twitter's strength lies in how much power each user has over what he receives.

Let's see what new ideas @foulbastard (or anyone else, really) can entertain us with.

YouTube must have some very specific analytics data, so looking at where viewers come from it should be quite easy to determine which videos are universally interesting and which are "locals only."

It's about time YouTube gets their analytics act together.

Why Your Company Needs a Community Builder

Using social media tools for your business takes more than setting up a blog, a Facebook profile and a twitter feed. You need someone who is passionate about your product and its community. Someone who understands the ins-and-outs of social tools and their etiquette.

Wow... Thanks for that tip about the "|" operator. Just gave me a ton more ideas!

You can see a list of all the available operators you can use on the Google Trends About page.

There's a ton of different options you can use.

Thanks Chris and Alex.

in Let Me Delete My Account on philcrissman.com
A similar thing happened to me with PC Magazine. I subscribed to one of their sweepstakes, using my gmail adddress with a "+pcmag" before the @ sign (so I know who's spamming me - like the guys at Performancing once did).

Well, that was when I still had a PC. I now own a Mac, so decided to unsubscribe from PC Magazine's list. Turns out I can't.

While my "+pcmag" address was accepted when I signed up, it seems the unsubscribe form will not accept email addresses with a "+" sign in them.

I've tried contacting anyone I can at PC Magazine to no avail. So, I marked them as spam and that's where all their newsletters end up now.

If you're on a Mac you can use a number of key-combinations for screen capture:

⌘-Shift-3: Captures the entire screen to a file on your desktop.

Ctrl-⌘-Shift-3: Captures the entire screen to the clipboard.

⌘-Shift-4: Captures a user-selectable region to a file on your desktop (pressing SpaceBar when the crosshairs is over a window will select that window).

Ctrl-⌘-Shift-4: Captures a user-selectable region to the clipboard.

Sharpshooter for Mac (http://www.iwankerl.com/Software/Sharpshooter/) will intercept these captures and let you rename the file before saving it.
