I think getting Andy Gray was brilliant for one reason that gets overlooked a lot: he's the longtime voice of EA Sports' FIFA video game series.

If you think that doesn't make a difference to the old 18-36 male viewer demographic ESPN thrives on (who do not by and large remember a time that we weren't playing sports video games) then you don't know us very well. To a lot of us, he /is/ the voice of big-time soccer.

So if you're trying to make something a big deal, Andy Gray has the widespread name (and voice) recognition that the random ESPN in house guys just plain don't. Furthermore, because we watch a lot of ESPN anyway, we already associate Rece Davis et al with the ESPN B-team, so we're not going to be terribly impressed by people we've heard even less of than him.

It's too bad for the "American Soccer Community" that they have their panties in a bunch because it wasn't one of "their" guys picked, but... well, sucks to be you, I guess.

I go for Trophy Manager (trophymanager.com) for my browser-based multiplayer manager simming myself.

Football Manager Live is on my radar, but TM is free, and I don't quite think I'm interested in /paying/ for the inevitable balance issues that ensue in these games.

(re: Hattrick et al, I don't know who decided to replace using the numbers 1-15 for stats with descriptives like "wretched", "poor", "weak", "good", "very good", "fantastic", "lousy", "so-so", etc etc, but it's just about the worst idea in the entire history of computer games.)

Aberona's main problem is that half their menu Tratt Roma does a bit better and the other half of it Romio's does a bit better.

They could make up the difference by being close, except they're kind of too far to walk from the downtown Fremont core and they have absolutely no parking.

I love the RPZ. Unfortunately I could have used the signs last month when some bar slob drunkydrunk did $600 damage to my car's front end and drove off one Friday night.

I would therefore like to encourage the City of Seattle to come down and ticket the bejeezus out of people at their first available opportunity! Maybe they'll get the hint.

I can appreciate that it sucks for you guys who aren't in stumbling distance from all the bars and haven't been putting up with this garbage for years, though.

Got my notice and form letter in the mail way back in January. Turned it in and got my sticker in February. RPZ signs went up on my street beginning of March. It was not a very complicated process at all, to be honest.

How about we compromise and just fence up the parts not over water? People get their views, nobody gets hit by falling bodies, nobody has to clean up a big splat, everyone's happy!

(Well, the jumpers probably aren't happy but if they were happy in the first place they wouldn't be jumpers.)

I guess they used "Season ends with a single win" for a headline because "Bozo Lineman Hit Too Many Times In The Head, Thinks 1-8 Team Actually Had A Chance Of Winning State" was too long.

There are teams that run the same plays over and over again and win -- because the other teams know what's coming and still can't stop it.
