in (MT) and their GPUs on Is There Food?
Mostly painless? Mostly? Ooh dear... nevermind. Menori's popularity has took a dip of late, probably due to the fact that I haven't posted much recently that is worth reading!

in Me And My Blog: 12 Months Of Blogging on Is There Food?
Bravo Dan. The site looks better than ever and your quality of writing is something to be desired.

I remember some moons ago when I started making noise about blogging probably 4 years or so ago. I found Blogger and tested the waters looking for a sinple way to publish to the web (Radio Userland was also on my list but needed an installable client). I saw blogging then as a means to captures one's thoughts but primarily in a project context - maybe as a project diary. My greatest level of interest came from using a blog as a knowledge management tool.

Since then everyone has carved their own niche in the 'blogosphere' and I think everyone has managed their time in the spotlight. You've had your iPod recognition, you and Steve had your JK Rowling moments, Ashleigh has achieved fame with his *ahem* video phone posting and his recent PS3 rumblings on BlogCritics and I had 15 minutes of fame for being the first person to post about Windows Live Writer.

I agree completely, it's fun, it's rewarding and everyone has got something to share.

in Second Life: Third Dimension on Is There Food?
It's the future mate. When Jeff Bezos invested in Second Life you got the impression it was going somewhere other than just being a 'game'. (That said Jeff Bezos thought the Segway was going to revolutionise cities). When I saw the article about adverts in Second Life and Flickr photo displays as well it gave me the impression that this would be a massive marketing tool. We'll eventually live in a world where everything is free and we pay to not see adverts.

I've just taken a survey for Live Mail and it was all about the positioning of adverts. It was extremely cleverly done.

I suppose Duran Duran will look better in a Virtual World than they do in real life. Will they sound as good though? I might just have to dust off that VR helmet... :-)

Once again great insight Dan..

in I got linked! on Is There Food?
The hype cycle for the iPod reached it's crescendo some time ago I think. When I walk the streets of London 'everyone' has got one - only the head phone differ sometimes. And New York is pretty much the same. A video iPod is not exciting as it's nothing new - Archos have been doing it for a long time. Anyhow, enough about Apple (of whom I think the company is more exciting than it's products at the moment) and more about Xvox 360!!!
