Good Luck on your very long run! What a name for a race. Will the trails be lite up? Sounds a little dangerous to me. Be careful!

in Where’s the Mileage on Running Daily
Texas is getting a lot of RAIN – via The Weather Channel. It might be wise to run with an inflatable raft.
: )
I bet you will do great in your next race – a few low mileage days = rest.

I’ve only seen one live moose. (And I grew up in Canada.) I was cross -country skiing near Banff; it was munching a nearby tree. Magnificent animal.

lol - my dog eats them. And she has been stung - dumb dog.
I sat on one last year...not too wise either.

Just keep stretching - the muscle will build up strength again. Have you tried working out in the pool?

I knew a Soccer player who couldn’t even straighten up. Years of vigorous activity and no stretching has a price.

I like your #3 suggestion. I really want to do a race in another country! Once I get my passport, I'm going to start looking.

Yes, what we put on our skin is absorbed. Never heard of someone dying from Ben Gay. Yikes!

[I have worries about sunscreen too.]

Don't you hate getting lost - you keep running in hopes you're going the right way... looking for any signs and then Bingo some miles away yells out " You're going the wrong way!"

Rest up and you will feel better.

Try "Badger Sore Muscle Rub"

PS. I actually like the smell of some menthol rubs - but not BenGay

The first ones I bought couple of years ago, burned out in about 6 months. [And they are bad for the land fill.] But I'm going to give them another chance. My desk light is halogen. (good or bad?)

Going to be "one hell of " an election. Hopefully I will be a Citizen by then so i can vote! (I'm Canadian)
PS. Al Gore should be running outside on a path - not on a treadmill if he wants to conserve energy ; )

in Better Headphones on Running Daily
I use a cheaper priced Sony earbuds. I had bought some expensive ones - white wire of course. But they are too heavy and fall out of my ears when running. They do have great sound but totally block out the background sound - which can be dangerous when running in traffic.
I recommend Sony.

in On Proper Breathing on Running Daily
I've seen a few runners wearing these nose strips at races - they look silly. But, Hey if the strips help you get more air in your lungs - go for it. ( (it's important to breath out too : 0

Yikes – A crash with another runner. Not fair he ran off and left you alone with an injury. I would have stopped.

RICE – but I’m sure you’re already doing this.

Culverts – big fun!

I've been to Northampton - but never to New Hampshire. Sounds like a very nice region of the States. Thanks for sharing your route.
