Any tips on how to get people to focus on our app and our ads and ignore facebook's ads?

Anand, go into the developer application and select, use full canvas width. You can then fill the remaining space with more content by redesigning your app to be wider. The new space should accommodate our "TV" ad units and upcoming skyscrapers.
