I market to elders and web usability is important. However, it's going to essential in a several years as the boomers become elders.

in Who is Technorati Trying to Reach on Chris Brogan
What a relief. I hear such great things about Technorati, but whenever I go there, I walk away with nothing useful. Google blog search has it beat when it comes to looking for blog content.

in My Twitter Follow Policy on Christopher S. Penn's Awaken Your Superhero
I don't have many followers and I don't follow many people. That's okay as I don't want to become deluged with tweets. When I do see someone new following me, I look at their profile. I'm reluctant to follow anyone who appears they will try to sell me something or someone who doesn't have a blog where I can read more about them.

Thanks, Lizzie!

Dave, how about one on how to correctly use track backs? I haven't read a good explanation yet. Keep up the good work.

in Does your business card suck? on Dave Delaney : Dave Made That
Good points about business cards. However, as with all design, it's very subjective. Years ago I remember I saw a full-color card from a professional boat captain. (Interesting that Seth Godin's examples have to do with boats also.) This captain's card showed him standing in front of a huge black marlin that was hanging by its tail. It was much longer than the captain. The implicit message? Hire me and catch big fish. He had broken many design rules, but the card worked.

in What's On Your Mind? on Chris Brogan
How can we break down the barriers that exist between the masses and blogs/podcasts? So many don't understand the passion of a few.

Dave,

I'm abstaining from voting until I better understand. I'll figure it out!

in My Family Life on Chris Brogan
People shouldn't ask that question. Still, as Annie mentioned, they may just be intrigued.

Thanks for devoting time to social media. It's refreshing to see that people with families can blog and podcast.

It's great you set time apart just for those closest to you.

in Why we need corn and why corn ethanol is not a great choice for fuel. on Dave Delaney : Dave Made That
Interesting post. In Massachusetts, we’ve been forced to use ethanol gasoline for quite some time. I’m all for a cleaner environment, but ethanol has caused numerous problems for boaters. Ethanol loosens deposits in boat fuel tanks and can dissolve resin in these tanks. This causes engines to stop working. What happens next? The fuel has to be disposed of or cleaned. Think of the environmental impact that either of these procedures has when hundreds of gallons of fuel are affected. As a boater, I clearly have strong feelings about ethanol. However, boating aside, I do wonder if the energy used in creating ethanol and transporting it to gas stations outweighs any environmental benefit that may be had from its use.

What a surprise. I had just turned on this episode as I went to myemma.com to work on a newsletter. I thought I was hearing things when Dave said that he worked for Emma.
