Insulting Clinton said that Rolph must have been a plant because she had been asked the same question in three other places. Could it simply be that Iowans follow the issues and might be upset about this one, especially since she gave essentially the same excuse for her Iran vote that she gave for her Iraq War vote? I've heard more than one person say that Clinton's Iran vote was the last straw for them and that they are no longer considering her because of it. Maybe Clinton needs to start taking the voters seriously. We aren't just an inconvenient annoyance she must put up with on her way to the White House.

purposeful fraud It's obvious that those contracts were written just short of the 730 days on purpose. It would be good to find out who specifically wrote and signed those contracts, to see just who is enough of a jerk to intentionally make their contract  period only one day short of qualifying them for benefits. This isn't freaking Kelly Services we are hiring here. We are asking these folks to risk their lives and be away from their families and jobs for an extended period of time. The Army needs to be held accountable to public opinion on this one.

Biden I can't figure out why Biden hasn't gotten more traction. He's a great candidate---experienced, good stance on the war, strong speaker, sense of humor, very frank. Seems to be a sharp guy with a lot of integrity. Why is he getting overlooked? Has he spent a lot of time in Iowa? Does he have a strong organization here?

why keep VA hospitals and clinics? I may sound like the devil's advocate here, but are the VA hospitals and clinics the best use of taxpayer dollars? Why don't we just provide veterans with free health insurance so they can go to a regular doctor or hospital when they need care, rather than travel who knows how far to go to a VA hospital/clinic? I like Richardson's idea of a "hero's card" that vets could use to see the doctor of their choice.

Re marriage v. civil unions What's in a name? Everything. Language matters. "Separate but equal" is inherently unequal. I wish more candidates were courageous on this issue.

local control about more than livestock Local control would allow cities to pass their own laws about smoking in public places. Also, Iowa currently has a fair amount of local control in running public schools---a situation that is being seriously challenged by No Child Left Behind.
