Mr. Haussman complaining that the left "blogosphere" is not fair and balanced? Is the right "blogosphere" fair and balanced? Is talk radio fair and balanced? Why not write a piece on that? Is Mr. Haussman's blog fair and balanced?

I have a hard time thinking back that this individual was once our choice for the vice presidency. That I actually voted for him.

Marjorie Childress, you hit the nail squarely on the head. Especially about the shift in the Republican party. Lyndon Johnson predicted that the south would be lost to the Democrats for generations when he signed the Civil Rights Law. No fan of LBJ here, but he was right. I watched both conventions and also saw the lack of diversity. To the point that they seemed to search for faces of minorities.

Education is the key to getting the opportunity in this country. The opportunity will not present itself without the education, or if it does, most without the education will not recognize it. We need to instill in our youth the importance of getting an education. As Hispanics we also nee to understand that we need to do it ourselves. It does little good to have a mentor at school if you do not have one at home.

Parents ought to be demanding AND working for better education. Not just demanding.

I am just wondering if Mr. Foley still laughs about this today? Or does he wince when he compares the prosperity this country enjoyed during President Clinton's 8 years in office with the misery our country is suffering under this administration?

The Republicans know how to use this tool. Texas is a perfect example. Democrats need to join the team. And inn New Mexico we have the where with all to do it. My suggestion is to go for it. To let the Republicans play dirty every where they have majorities and the Democrats do nothing is wrong.

I agree with Kate 100%. I had only heard the edited version of what Obama said. It makes sense when you read the whole thing. Thanks for posting the whole thing Kate.
