Compared to other leaders, you're completely right, his (alleged) crimes are insignificant. He is the embodiment of "Ah sure" politics in Ireland though.

I have the 3 HSDPA modem and I found it to be pretty useful (currently on loan to another TSSGer who's just moved house).

Signal seemed pretty solid everywhere I've used it, never hit speeds higher than what you'd expect on a 1MBit DSL line -- but that's impressive enough for me sitting in a car at 100km/h.

The 3 SIM I have is configured not to use a PIN, which is why I think you need to run the O2 software (might be wrong on that though).

Last I heard that video was a mockup to demo the touchscreen support in Symbian/Series60. I think Nokia are moving that way but not in such a blatant iPhone-y way.

I meant more Chris' problem of having to dual boot Windows. I don't think Parallels will virtualize an OSX instance -- some agreement with Apple to maintain a friendly relationship.

Parallels is also available for Linux and Windows... :)

I switched back to my Dell workstation today, the default Fisher-Price inspired XP theme reminds me just how pretty my Mac is. Still, it's 9:50am and I've only rebooted twice (1: Forgot what my USB wifi dongle was. 2: Thunderbird has some weird DLL issue, fixed with a delete-reboot-reinstall)

One night might not be long enough to have formed a solid opinion but would you think Excite Truck is a game worth buying ? I've heard mixed reports so far.

The really annoying thing is that Java could be a useful web app language if it wasn't so bogged down in such pointless (and largely unused) architecture.

I agree completely. It's one of those things that's technically interesting but is not being used appropriately.

I've seen it confuse 2 non-techie users, first hand. Links should be links, nothing more. While we're at it, using "javascript:goUrl('/other_page.html');" for an href should disqualify you from the internet.

TextMate is a fantastic editor, I miss it on this Windows machine.

Modern IDEs are great and powerful and such but they're completely useless once you leave their little realm.

I'd happily pay twice the price for a Windows port.
