Nice video Jett! Thanks for sharing. I'm dying to hear what you think of that movie, I'm dying to check it out too!
Nice edits on this man. It was fun to watch you roaming through East Nashville.

No kidding! So many people were confused about the yesterday/today events. It's a shame, because it sure separated the community.

Great post Chris, really great!
I had no idea you are a Rye & Ginger man. You're such an honorary Canadian. Will we be seeing you at PodCamp Toronto? There's plenty of CC to be had in Toronto, Canadian Club, not C.C. Chapman, however it would be awesome to see him there too.
As far as reading, I'd love to know how you do it man. Is it that you have so much unplugged time in planes to read? Between your family, work and the occasional movie, when do you make time to read?
I read your post a while ago about not sleeping much, seriously though, how many hours are you sleeping?
I'm asking you this, because I'm trying to schedule my time to start reading more as well, but I'm finding it very difficult. I'd love your insight.
Cheers,
Dave

in Your iPhone Can Save Your Child’s Life on Dad-O-matic
Unfortunately the app is now $2.99. While they would love to give us a free version, Apple doesn't allow this. I know first hand how difficult it is to update things in the iTunes Store.
Still, $2,99 isn't very much to pay for the app. I still recommend it.
Cheers,
Dave

Sorry about that, I didn't realize the free version was expiring. I've emailed the creators and requested they extend the date for dad-o-matic readers. Stay tuned.
Thanks,

in A Quick Tip for Expecting Daddies on Dad-O-matic
@Greg: Thanks. I didn't mean putting your whole life on hold, I meant that you whole life has changed - at least it should have. I agree that new parents (and seasoned ones) need to take some time apart to unplug from daddy/mommy mode. Great tip to make the tradeoffs. Thanks.
@Jeff: I *really* need a TIVO :-) My VCR channels don't go high enough to record my essentials like Daily Show and Colbert Report. :-(
@Mark M: I agree with you guys. Not sure I understood your Chick Flick reference those.

Not to make light of the issue, but the Clay Aiken story reminds me of this scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdbs3lKEeBE from The Kids in The Hall's movie "Brain Candy".

in Children’s Television Doesn’t Have To Suck on Dad-O-matic
@AnthonyRusso: I've seen Spongebob Squarepants without my kids and found it funny. I thinks it's skewed at a slightly older child than my own, perhaps 10ish? If it compares to Looney Tunes you have me sold!
I'll have to check out Upside Down Show, sounds fun. Thanks.
@Ryan: We've only watched the Backyardigans a few times, it's not a bad show at all. I bought the pirate ship bath toy for Sam when he was little. I was disappointed with the quality, it could hardly stay afloat. I guess I can't blame the show for that though. :-) Arggg! (my pirate voice). Cheers.

@joshpaul: Trust me, I understand how that can be. Search for "two boobs" on Google and luckily the first result is my parenting podcast :-) Funny.
@adjustafresh: I've never heard of the show, but you sold me at Iggy! I just found a bit on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYehQtdRMWM&... Funny stuff. I need to buy this for my kids. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Joshpaul. I'll have to check to see when it's on in our neck of the woods (Nashville). I am very excited though, because I read the credits and guess what...
"Peep," "Quack," "Chirp," "Tom" and "Nellie" were originally created by Kai Pindal for the National Film Board of Canada productions The Peep Show (©1962, National Film Board of Canada) and Peep and the Big Wide World (©1988, National Film board of Canada). PEEP and the Big Wide World was developed in association with Eggbox, LLC.
I'm Canadian, so I think it might ring some bells. I'm glad they changed the name from "The Peep Show", eh? :-)

Hi Cory:
Thanks so much for your comment. You make a good point that the shows need to entertain the kids first. My kids also love Blue's Clues and Higglytown Heroes (also by the creators of Yo Gabba Gabba!).
I must admit the aforementioned shows are good, I enjoy them too.
My beef with Sesame Street these days is that the Elmo segments go on way too long. Of course, the kids do love Elmo now don't they?
Cheers.
